I like the idea alot (god I hate that word)!!! To the fan who said there is a superlucha expo in Mexico that weekend, is Dark Angel Sarah Stock listed to be there? It sure would s*ck if she wasn't at Shimmer again. But I will be there I'm not going to miss this, the last 2 day Shimmer was for the title. Wonder what DP has got up his sleeve for the May shows?? It'll be a great mystery.

I think the usual suspects Daizee, MsChif, Melissa, etc. will be in probably 3 of the four events, I don't see them doing all four, I would also not be surprised if someone like Kong, or Melissa doing only one show Saturday, and maybe coming out in Volume 26 and be ready and kinda fresh to beat MsChif who wrestled twice, maybe. I don't really know? This might be a time to bring in the new talent, Don't be surprised to be 4-8 debuts. I'll just go right down the middle and say 6. Not SPARKLE, but SHIMMER itself. Kinda like maybe what Summerlyn did. The winners of the SPARKLE matches might get a shot at SHIMMER. Would not be too surprised.

The "usual suspects" should be in every DVD if they're in town both nights.

Do you think someone might try to skip out on 23-25, and come back and face MsChif who wrestled 23-25. I know one that would pull that off, but she's "retired". Maybe Jetta or Rain...or maybe...

But that really wouldn't give that person an advantage, in the land of Shimmer, because each DVD is presented as its own stand-alone event. Unless DP starts playing up that two DVD's are taped on the same day, which I don't see happening...

You're right, my logic was I just not sure MsChif can win 4 matches in maybe 30 hours against top notch competition. Just plain fatigue might be a factor. But then again I'm not sure what MsChif has done in other feds so I'm not going to say a yes or no. I'm just not sure. I say that there is a better than 50% chance that Chif will lose the belt, but we will have to see. And I think there will be rumble for the title shot on Volume 23, Deeb will get a title shot, I'm hoping Kong and Melissa get the title shots.

Obviously, from a financial standpoint, it makes it easier for us to break even on each DVD filmed in a weekend if we pay that gigantic transportation expense once to cover four DVD releases worth of footage, rather than only getting two DVDs out of it.
Another thing that we needed to take care of was overloading the shows with too much talent. We had 28 wrestlers last time. Since we only had two DVDs to work with, to make each of those flights worthwhile, we felt pressured to try to include everybody on both DVDs. While that worked fine on Vol. 21 due to the tag gauntlet, on Vol. 22 it resulted in a twelve match card (and that's including several tag team matches, it was still twelve matches), and it ran almost three and a half hours live, for just that portion of the day of taping. That was too much. Though it may not have felt excessive live to some of you, my feeling is that the Vol. 22 DVD would've made for a lot better viewing if it were 9 matches, and 2 hours, 45 minutes or so in length.
On the night of the last taping, we felt that it would be necessary to only book maybe 22-24 wrestlers for the next one to make for more reasonable viewing. That would then mean both not debuting anyone new next time, and also leaving 4-6 roster members at home, on the bench. This new four DVDs over the course of a weekend format gives us the luxury of rotating some of the undercard talent out to keep the number of matches and total DVD time at a reasonable level, while still keeping everyone involved at the tapings and appearing from time to time (just not on every DVD). Some of the key talents will appear on all four DVDs.
A big part of putting together a solid wrestling show is the pacing of the show, which is something a lot of fans forget when wanting to see a list of 30 or more wrestlers on one taping, injured wrestlers return, and encourage us to bring in 2 or 3 new talents. There simply isn't room for that many wrestlers.

I am happy as Hell to see Shimmer getting back into action ,but I'm wondering why this upcoming show is in May instead of late March or early April, and also why front row seats are becoming available on Super Bowl Weekend, and during the game, yet! Hope that this doesn't mean fewer tapings the rest of the year!

Hope that this doesn't mean fewer tapings the rest of the year! From the sounds of it, it will probably mean less tapings, but on the upside, it will mean more volumes than in 2008.

Hope that this doesn't mean fewer tapings the rest of the year! It's the first weekend in May because that's the one weekend the vast majority of the talent we'd like to use are all available, in combination with the venue being available. Most of the key members of the roster have other independent booking on the other weekends in March and April. The two days of taping format doesn't necessarily mean anything concerning the number of tapings we plan on doing for the remainder of the year. As far as front row tickets go, I expect some to still be available well past Super Bowl Sunday. The last taping didn't sell out of front row until just before the show. That will likely be the case this time as well, particularly because they are two day ticket packages.
