I'll be honest. I don't watch joshi, but only because I don't know where to begin. I don't know what promotions are good, what wrestlers are worth following. Yeah, the thing is with joshi, the promotions are kinda scattered around time and a lot of the future ones don't make it but everyone of the promotions on the very top are still around and doing very good. Youtube and veoh are your best bets for getting acquainted with them (which I was talking about earlier) And I've been making Joshitrons and videos lately for the stars and legends on my channel. (It's exactly in the fashion of nykk's Shimmertrons if you're wondering) Back on topic again....has anyone noticed that Michelle's getting the Death Rey/ McGuinness heel turn?

...as long as the fans eat it up and pop for the Kelly Kelly's and Candice Michelle's of the world, nothing is going to change. Why should it? The perception seems to be that the way things are is wrong. I think it was it is. ...crummy production values... I was just having that same conversation with someone the other night regarding the Internet belief that some of the indy promotions like Ring of Honor could "compete." There is a lot of revenue between them and that level of competition. the thing that bothers me about this thread is that it has become the most popular. J Were you a member of the forum before the General Discussion half of the boards was closed? I don't know what promotions are good, what wrestlers are worth following, even how to access the material without ordering dvds from Japan (which I can't afford on a grad student's stipend). Check your PMs.

the thing that bothers me about this thread is that it has become the most popular. J I couldn't agree more, and never intended on posting anything on it,but..what the hell. It would be nice to see the WWE use their women properly, but I doubt it'll happen. The WWE audience is so used to the lingerie matches, pillow fight matches, costume contests etc. I've seen ppvs where the crowds actually started to chant "boring boring" while a pretty decent match was happening. I thought it was good around 1999 -2004,but it just kept heading in the sleaze direction.I loved watching Trish,Lita,Ivory,Molly,Gail Kim,Jazz,Victoria,Jackie Moore they all had some great matches, but as they dissappeared..so did the legit matches. It's too bad, because there are some very talented ladies in there right now. Nattie,Nikita(I have no idea what her name is now..I never see her wrestle on there),Beth,Melina,Mickie. I'd watch,if they would have a main event once in a while,or just a decent length match, and lose allot of the sleaze. If I want sleaze I'll watch Skinamax,or go to a juice bar! I do watch TNA occasionally for Kong,Melissa,Roxxi, and Shantelle, but it's gone down hill big time since Scott left. I guess I'm spoiled by Shimmer, just like I'm spoiled by ROH,NOAH,and Chikara. I support those companies because they always deliver, and even if it's not that great sometimes..it's ALWAYS better(for my $) than what WWE,or TNA is putting out there. This is just how I feel. Peace

The WWE doesn't do a lot of those type of matches anymore. Only on special occasions. I don't think they've done pillow fights in a few years. See, you can't not watch it and then act like you watch it. Other than the Santa's Little Helper match (and that was more about the costumes than the match itself), I don't recall the last time they did any of that other crap. The length of the matches? All matches on TV are short because of commercials. I'd like to see the WWE give the girls more than five minutes on a PPV.

The last pillow fight of recent memory was with the five-way one when Ashley returned to RAW...

I believe I said longer matches and and occasional main event. The women get the shortest match length of anyone on the show, and that's been well documented. You don't have to watch it to know that. It's just not for me,but thanks anyway.

WWE still has sleaze... not as bad as TNA in some regards.

Yeah, it tends to escape many peoples minds that some of the KO's are just as sleezy or more as the Divas.

No.. I guess you have a point there...but didn't WWE have Victoria tearing off her pants and shaking her ass in the camera? At least there's one thing that TNA doesn't have..a sexist jerk that acts like he's in middle school, and degrades the women during the entire match. It starts when they come out,and it doesn't stop. I can't stand that sh*t!

You need to lighten up. It's only wrestling. The WWE doesn't do a lot of that stuff anymore and if you don't know that, then your first post was baloney. Lawler is always going to be Lawler. He's been a little worse lately working with Cole. Maybe you're too sensitive. As for TNA, they only do that with the Beautiful People because the sex appeal is part of the angle. They don't do it with the others. TNA booking is a bigger issue.

My first post had allot more to it than the current state of sleaze in the WWE. I was man enough to admit I might be wrong on that account..too bad you can't do the same.. and acknowledge the things that I am right on! I'm done with this discussion, and I'm not playing last word kid games with you. I honestly could care less about the WWE,and neither company compares to Shimmer for my $. DONE

A wrestler's look is important. Not just for the women but the men also. Maybe it's not as much for the men but it is important. John Cena is a good looking guy. So are Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy.
As far as the five minute matches, look at it like this. How much money does it cost for a 30 second commercial on raw? Now think about how much it would cost for a five minute commercial. That five minute match cost Vince six figures before you even factor in what he's paying the wrestlers. So don't be so quick to dismiss a five minute match.
And Lawler is terrible. He makes all matches, but especially the women's matches, completely unwatchable.

You should have shut up in the first place instead of whining about Victoria shaking her ass. Sex appeal has been a part of women's wrestling since the 50s. A wrestler with sex appeal can also be a good wrestler. They're not mutually exclusive. There is sex appeal in SHIMMER and there is sex appeal in joshi puroresu. Guys like you who don't get that have an inaccurate picture in their heads based on outdated ideas. And anyone who thinks the wrestling should be first in the WWE or TNA should know better. You were told by several people that you were wrong and you insisted on continuing your whining. Get lost. EDIT: Almost forgot. I didn't acknowledge any of your points because there's nothing to acknowledge. You don't know what you're talking about.

color me confused by all of this. Saying there is not sleaze in wwe is like saying Lawler is not the epitome of a ignoramus. They base 90% of the women wrestling in wwe on sleaze and looks only. As far as TNA doing worse than wwe? I really hope that is a joke (though tna does push the sleaze i know this) - remember some of the stuff that Sable and Tori used to do? The outfits that Sable wore? I mean wwe pushes sleaze very hard - ever since the days of Sable wearing hand prints over her jugs. Do not get me started on those "Diva" searches - they might as well cruise the local juice bar for most of those "ladies" To me Shimmer DOES NOT use the sleaze card - i really dont get how anyone could say they do. Outdated ideas ? Wrestling should be the first thing to watch those shows for - if you want to see sleaze watch porn - if you are old enough that is. I see TONS of edits going on ? Trying to make your insults seem more "cool" ? This does not come as surprise to me from someone who sticks up for and enjoys the wwe - a company that thinks Colt Cabana is not good enough for television. I really only have one other point - just remember there is no need to argue with anyone that thinks the wwe is anything but a total sh*t company run by an egomaniac and has not had good wrestling on its program for about ten years now. Good day - one other point - TNA at least lets women have main events on tv and has had more than one womens match on ppv also.
