HURRRR FLAMING WEED WACKER BATTLE ROYAL IN A RING MADE OF LIGHT TUBES HURRRRR SHIMMER doesn't and and shouldn't need gimmick matches to draw fans or get over. I can understand things like Falls Count Anywhere and Last Woman Standing for heated feuds like Melissa/MsChif, but if you do too many gimmick matches too often, then it ends up like Vince Russo-era WCW, and we all know how fun (not fun) that garbage was to watch. If SHIMMER is going to use any gimmick matches, the matches need to make sense for the feud. A submission-only match would be a good one for two solid submission wrestlers (which is most of the roster). The Knox/Danger Pure Rules match from Vol. 6 was really really good and I'd love to see more of those as they really showcase the ability of the workers involved to tell a story. Aside from that anything goofy or off-the-wall should be avoided. This man nails it.

A submission match, of course. Personally I find hardcore brawls boring, but they do have their fans so I guess it's a wise choice to have one of those occasionally.

In keeping with the general theme here, SHIMMER doesn't need gimmick matches. The fact that they're an all-women promotion IS their gimmick, and it's worked for them because they've shown that female wrestlers can be just as good in the ring as men. To branch out into gimmicky match types, more than are necessary for feud progression at least, would cheapen the feel, and water down the very intent of the promotion. I think much more important are the straight one on one matches they've been doing, and possibly some more tag action to break things up. Maybe when we get a brutal feud going we can throw in more gimmicks, like they did with the MsChif/Melissa hardcore match.

I want to see more 6 & 8 man tags.
Always thought it would be cool if they ripped off the Thunderqueen gimmick.

There will be a heavy SHIMMER presence on the 10/21 show in Berwyn promoted by AAW, with several matches that will wind up appearing as bonus matches on Vols. 7 & 8. You will probably see a big tag match as one of those matches.
