Maybe it's just that I wasn't around for the Territory Days when wrestling was all serious business Then don't be surprised when fans don't take it seriously. If you don't book serious business you aren't going to get serious reactions. People aren't going to boo heels. People aren't going to care. Even in serious feds like SHIMMER it takes a lot to get legit, emotional reactions. The joke that is TNA has no chance. They can't decide at the last minute to start booking something that resembles sense. This match had bells, whistles, a bullhorn, a siren, and a vibrating dildo. You can have a ladder match and have it be serious business. Same with a battle royal, or hair vs hair. You just can't do them all at once with this many women all feuding in vague face vs heel groups and expect fans to take it seriously. No, it's much more likely they'll chant something they think is funny or ironic. Again, even the serious feds get some of this these days. Difference is, TNA actually deserves it.

Chikara is more of a serious promotion then TNA. And they have wrestlers like the damn Los Ice Creams.

I'm seeing a lot of things being argued here, some on base, some not, some reductionist, some coming from other planets. But nevermind that.
The bottom line for me, really, is that TNA is bad. Worse still, TNA is bad with talented wrestlers. Every time I watch Impact- and I still have no clue why I do- I feel like I've been thrown violently back in time to late 90s WCW, only a bizarro alternate universe version where they have a not-quite-equilateral hexagon for a ring.
The best thing I can say is that there is nowhere else in the world where the phrase "never say never" applies than professional wrestling. Mutou just won the IWGP title, for god's sake.
It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but eventually- mark my words- Nikki will be back in SHIMMER, Samoa Joe will be back in ROH, and hell- don't be shocked if Punk, Cabana & Sydal make their way back to the indies in some way or another. Everything is always in flux in life itself, and with pro wrestling especially it always seems like the least likely (and sensible) things to happen are the things that end up happening.
I try to just kick back and enjoy the chaos, frankly.

Russo hasn't been booking the women. Scott D'Amore does and Jarrett approves everything. As usual, Russo is a convenient but misguided scapegoat. Whether it's Russo or not, the fact that live fans don't boo the heels but the booking team says a bit about your company. It also says something that fans think, "This is so idiotic, Vince Russo must have been responsible for it." Either way, I'd like to see a company like SHIMMER do a Hair vs Hair match proper. If you take a match like this, and 4 needless stipulations, 5 extra wrestlers, add build it up based on a dated pop culture joke you can't blame the fans for not taking it seriously and caring like they should. Familiarity breeds contempt. I've been saying for two years that TNA needs to get out of Orlando permanently. But they can't afford to leave. The fans are idiots as was shown again last night. But I agree that TNA's constant overbooking invites disdain and sometimes it bites them in the butt and they get the wrong reaction. So it's Jarrett's fault for allowing convoluted booking that no one can figure out. And lately he's been talking about booking in a more serious way. Except for Joe/Angle, haven't seen it yet. Of course I prefer the way Ozaki booked a hair match a couple of weeks ago. But I don't expect common sense from TNA.

Before all the ranting, someone said something that got overlooked. We'll see if this was a good move or not in a couple months. If Nikki receives a major push in TNA for agreeing to have her head shaved, they can justify it. However, if she doesn't go anywhere, then it was a waste of time. TNA took a major step with the Roxxi Laveaux character, let's just wait and see if that step was forwards or backwards.

Who knows the shaving her head could be her getting MCMG treatment for something.

Yes, it could. Or it could lead to a major push with her holding the title. We're not getting anywhere by speculating. I am saying to shut up and wait and see.

Regardless of the fact that they had wrestled too many times, Joe had lost too many times, Angle isn't half the wrestler he was, etc., they still had something going with the UFC cage angle big fight atmosphere thing. But, being TNA, they had the screw with it by making the main storyline of the match that Joe would retire if he couldn't beat Angle. It was something totally unbelievable, and totally unnecessary and every time it was mentioned I found myself wanting to change the channel. The match was just average, but the fact that it had no suspense due to a needless stipulation didn't help at all.

Nikki Roxx is a possiblity,as long as Shimmer want her back and as long Nikki want to comeback.Sooner or later wrestler go back to theirs origins or the place they feel more comfortable. And speaking about TNA,is not as good as it should be,but it could be worse.Even if the bookings of the women division are a total mess,we have the chance to see women wrestling at a different level.Of course they can improve and hopefully they would do it. At least the wrestlers have more fans, and that could be the most important thing.

That match really had a reverse effect, I knew a lot of people who were starting to wish Joe would lose the match. Just so they wouldn't have to see another Joe vs Angle match again. In one year prior to that they already had like 6 matches. That was 7th and had another one on Impact making it 8.

There's no doubt in my mind that Nikki herself was the first to throw out the idea of cutting her hair. Yeah, it was bullshit and all, but hopefully this will lead to them fading out the voodoo gimmick. And I'd love nothing more than to see her come back to SHIMMER. If anything, I'd say this plays in to the voodoo gimmick more. The character is a creepy, witch-like girl. If she's going to be a freak, going bald plays right in to it. I respect your opinion Ryan but I have yet to see a bald woman gypsy. 'til now! Damn did this thread take off.

What really annoyed me is all the faces where there showing sympathy and holding Roxxi's hand but yet they wouldn't even hold Angel and Talia back so it could be a fair fight.

Ah, the "I know you are, but what am I?" response. I think we're done here. i would say you're done, you lost mate! though i do enjoy your tail between the legs response. A+ back to the topic at hand, TNA is now dead to me. J

According to the iMPACT! spoilers Kong beat Gail Kim, so earning the shot was meaningless.

According to the iMPACT! spoilers Kong beat Gail Kim, so earning the shot was meaningless. Because all earned title shots must lead to title victories, right?
