I might start getting into RoH, but Shimmer is the one I'm more into.

Yeah, I mentioned to the guy next to me that it seemed like I walked into "Bizarro Shimmer" last night with The Dangerous Angels working as heels and getting heckled by the crowd, Ariel beating Kong, Ashley Lane and some other blonde (Nivea?? not quite sure) going over the MnHWC, the appearance of Sharkgirl, etc etc. Very very weird night and MsChif winning the title literally came outta nowhere and I wonder, logically, if it makes sense since they had begun to build for Mercedes Martinez to challenge Sara. Why have Mercedes call out Sara for the belt if she's only going to drop it that night? Anyhoo... so these are my impressions on seeing my first Shimmer show in person... 1) Up close, Sarah Stock is about the prettiest thing I've ever seen in my life. Just absolutely gorgeous. 2) Fans will chant just about anything no matter how stupid it is. 3) Amber O'Neill and Kong are unbelievably nice and cordial to the fans. 4) Rain and Lacey? Not so much. 5) Cindy Rogers is much much better in person than I gave her credit for in past posts. 6) Have to say, so is MsChif (except for blowing the first spot right off the bat in the title match but, what the hell, she's over and that's all that really counts. The roar when she pinned Sara for the belt was deafening.) 7) Crap, these shows are loooooooong. 8) Gotta bring more money next time. 9) And more Sharpies since *some people* (not naming any names Allison and Melissa) either had theirs run out of ink or flat out forget theirs. 10) Kill myself since I inexplicably missed Ariel at intermission.

10) Kill myself since I inexplicably missed Ariel at intermission. She was in the front row of the section opposite the hard camera during intermission, so that's probably why you didnt see her. Yes, Stock is absolutely gorgeous.

Yes, Stock is absolutely gorgeous. Ariel does that all the time. It's sorta where the cool kids hide out during the pep rally.

Yeah, I admit I had totally forgot about Ariel since I was so glad to get back to my seat after moving about 20 feet in 40 minutes. When I saw her going to the back I said "Ah crap, I missed Ariel!" and she turned around and as she was going thru the curtain kinda paused a second and frowned like "sorry". Next time for sure! (Plus go buy more Dark Angel merch as well!)

This was my first live show as well and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Pretty much all the wrestlers I talked to were very cordial. Mercedes, however was very personable. Talking to her was like talking to someone I had known for years. I saw Ariel as I was attempting to head for Sara but Ariel was closer and not in the pack of people so I got to her first. Kong, Lexie & Malia, Rain, Cindy, Melissa, Rebecca Bayless and Sara were all great. Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to Mschif much(though she did sign a picture for me), and I absolutely couldn't get to Daizee or Sarah Stock.
Never have I ever heard a chant for changing the tapes.....but the crowd was entertaining also, which I expected.
All in all the show was great and I may be addicted to the live shows now. I must find a way to try to go to the one in July.

Another question about the shimmertron; how was Nykk's new music video? DP said in another forum that it would premire at the taping. Did it reek of awesomeness?

By the time I got back over by Sarah Stock she pretty much sold out of her 8x10's and was trying to sell all of her magazines.I always make sure I get a few pics of Sarah Stock.Anyone buy any of Sarah's dvd's? I almost always carry extra sharpies to shows.

From nik's post ( quoting the whole thing with my comments inside looks weird): Yeah, I mentioned to the guy next to me that it seemed like I walked into "Bizarro Shimmer" last night with The Dangerous Angels working as heels and getting heckled by the crowd, Ariel beating Kong, Ashley Lane and some other blonde (Nivea?? not quite sure) going over the MnHWC, the appearance of Sharkgirl, etc etc. Agreed. No question. I said 'Oh my God!' when she came out for her match and had to tell her I loved her outfit while getting a pic signed. 2) Fans will chant just about anything no matter how stupid it is. Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis? Oh, you mean: CHANGE THAT TAPE! PIZZA! PIZZA! The crowd's attempt at recreating the Animaniacs Nations of the World skit. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDtdQ8bTvRcI admit taking part in that. 3) Amber O'Neill and Kong are unbelievably nice and cordial to the fans. Looked like they were, only got to tell Kong I liked her Kongtourage shirt. 4) Rain and Lacey? Not so much. Hey now, both were very nice to me at intermission (well, Rain was, Lacey at the start of intermission, I stood beside her and made a comment to other fans that I wasn't buying anything, she said "You're not buying anything? Then go away!" I said, "Or what?" she then called for security on the fat pig. I then took a step in her direction and she threatened to hit me in the mouth. She actually seemed surprised to see me come back for an autographed picture and was very gracious about it.) And I told Rain that TNA was totally misusing her. 5) Cindy Rogers is much much better in person than I gave her credit for in past posts. Agreed, although she looked a wee bit uncomfortable out there. 6) Have to say, so is MsChif (except for blowing the first spot right off the bat in the title match but, what the hell, she's over and that's all that really counts. The roar when she pinned Sara for the belt was deafening.) Indeed. The switch was out of left field witch made me believe briefly that crowd reaction necessitated the change. (Yes I know the result was determined before the show, most likely.) 7) Crap, these shows are loooooooong. ZZZZZZZZ-*snort* is it over yet? Seriously, while I appreciate all the wrestling for the price, six hours of wrestling, eight hours in the building overall is a bit much. (Especially for me since I work overnights and got out of work at 8:30 that morning.) What really didn't help was that intermission was so long (and disorderly). You could see DP come out with an exasperated look on his face when Joey had to tell the talent for a THIRD time to get their rear ends back there. 8) Gotta bring more money next time. Thank You extra tax rebate this year! 9) And more Sharpies since *some people* (not naming any names Allison and Melissa) either had theirs run out of ink or flat out forget theirs. Ditto. I work for Walgreens close by and next time they're on sale I'm stocking up! Melissa wrote her autograph with silver which while legible, looks a little off. 10) Kill myself since I inexplicably missed Ariel at intermission. I saw her, she was on my side of seats and I shook her hand. Nyah Nyah! Just Kidding. God I suck at message board posting!

Confirmed. The crowd was a little strange in that Sara mostly got booed the entire night. Anyone who took complete results of this outside of SHIMMER needs to be commended. There's just so many matches during the 7 hours that they start to run together after a while. Three best matches of the night (IMO) were Mercedes vs. Cindy Rogers, Wesna vs. Kong and Sarah Stock vs. Melissa. I think they were all from Volume 18. Main event of 17 with Dangerous Angels vs. MsChif and Melissa deserves some mention for the odd crowd dynamic that Danger and the Champ were suddenly heels. This built well to the title change on 18, but it's not something that was necessarily "expected" going into the show. Anything can happen. I mentioned on another board that for some reason, Sara got the John Cena treatment all night. I'm wondering if it's just a case of her opponent's for the night (MsChif and Melissa were MASSIVELY over) or will we see a heel turn from the Death Rey? (This might be the case if she resumes her feud with Mercedes or is desperate to get her belt back. She mostly played the heel in the title match with her blatantly cheating, arguing with Bryce and giving us the glare of death when we cheered and chanted for MsChif. Also the fact she quickly got out of dodge after the match was sketchy. Probably to let MsChif celebrate.)

I thought the crowd was cheering for both teams. But then Del Rey began acting like a heel, including one of my favorite lines of the nite, "she's just a cheerleader!"

For those of you who couldn't make the show, I just wrapped up my fairly detailed (~6 pages in MS word) report and submitted it for posting over at www.411mania.comIt contains all of the results as well as my opinions on the show . . . plus I never once claim that Lacey is pregnant! What more could you want in an article? With the WWE Backlash show happening tonight, the report won't actually run until 12 AM EST as not to bump anything PPV-related from our news section during the period in which the majority of our readers are coming to the site for Backlash info. Sorry that I wasn't able to get this up immediately after the tapings as I have in the past. I decided to attend the after party instead, and, even if I didn't go to Michael Anthony's, I couldn't get the wifi in my hotel to work all weekend.

Some thoughts and opinions on the taping:
I would do the dance of joy if it were announced that Danyah and Jennifer Blake were never being invited back. Dreadful. Absolutely the worst part of the entire taping. I've never seen someone smile from bell to bell, even during a collossal Experience ass beating, like Danyah. Two matches for sure I'll be skipping in the future.
On the flipside, Ashley Lane and Nicole Matthews get my vote for 'most improved' between tapings. Ashley was much better and took part in what I consider the Experience's best match in SHIMMER. Nicole Matthews looked great and proved that she didn't need Portia at ringside to get heat. Hell, I thought both of her matches were better than anything Portia has done in SHIMMER. I think their tag team past should be ignored in favor of giving Matthews a shot in singles action when Portia comes back. And her entrance music was incredible.
Sharkgirl was a pleasant surprise as Daffney's act was getting tired with me. She did a lot better than I expected, putting on two matches that were much better than her previous outings with Cindy and the Experience.
Nevaeh and Cat Power are worthy.
Lorelei Lee looked impressive, sucks that she went 0-2.
Ariel beating Kong was weird. At first, I thought we may have been seeing the beginning of an angle to write Kong out of SHIMMER when Bryce threatened her with the suspension, but then she goes and kills Wesna in the next volume without incident. Oh well, the crowd response for Ariel was bad ass during the slaughter.
Mercedes, as I expected, showed me nothing. Beating Wesna was a travesty, the match with Cindy in general seemed like a waste as there was never any question on who was winning. Even though I have no love for Mercedes at all, I expected something bigger than a glorified squash in her second outing.
Stock versus Lacey was exactly what I said it would be.. Stock wrestling down instead of Lacey wrestling up. Lacey was just completely out of her league.
MsChif and Melissa versus the Dangerous Angels is easily and unquestionably the best tag team match that has ever occurred in a SHIMMER ring. The fans turning on Del Rey was classic. The finish was hot and all four women involved came out looking like huge stars. If another SHIMMER tag match ever tops this, I'll be surprised.
I thought Jetta/Haze was terrible and judging from the reaction of the section I was sitting in alone, I wasn't the only one. The stalling with Jetta and the Wrecking Crew drew immediate X-Pac heat that never let up. Easily the worst singles match of the night in my opinion.
Melissa/Stock II was the best singles match of the night to me. It's a shame that the crowd didn't get into it until it was almost over because it was freakin' worlds better than their tournament match.
I didn't like how Wesna was used at all. I liked what little she got to showcase, but it seems like after all the hype she got, she was flown in just to give Mercedes a big return win and to give Kong another meaningless victim. The German suplex was nice, though. Not a bad finish either.
I was very surprised that MsChif became the new champion. I've been saying Del Rey wouldn't drop the belt until she'd feuded with Mercedes over it and I was proven dead wrong. Either way, it was a great moment and really blows the main event scene wide open. Providing she keeps it until the July tapings, those will be two very interesting shows.
