But there's only a few people on the roster and they should just take time out to "Wow" the crowd with how could women can really be in the ring, but it's all a matter of opinion.

Quite a few of you guys have made some real good points. So I thought I'd throw in my tupence as well.
First things first, I don't think the top title should have a "World" label. It's much too early. Sure there's some people on the roster who have competed in Mexico and Japan, but the company's much too young to even have a high enough status in the public eye to seriously call its top title a "World" title.
And on a slight tangent to that, how about simply "SHIMMER title" or "SHIMMER Champion"? Sure it's rather simple, and perhaps uncreative, but I think that would actually be to its benefit.
I definitely agree that a tag title would be the next logical step, though with a proposed roster of 16, I think it's still much too early for that even. The important thing is to get each wrestler over individually as a talented athlete, each one striving to make it to the top of the ladder. Rushing into things too fast can only spell doom for such a promising promotion. SHIMMER should follow the example of those women's promotions in Japan: starting out small and slowly building from the ground up. Going overboard with multiple titles from the get-go will likely hurt the company's image, making it seem too anxious to hit it big.
As for when the main title should be introduced, I'd say wait a few shows. Again, for a little while at least, the focus should be primarily on the women as individuals providing their own unique talents to the squared circle. As well, this company really needs to establish a strong fanbase from the very beginning. And to do that, the focus should be on "wow"ing the crowd while perhaps establishing some feuds. And yes, I think a tournament would indeed be the most logical course for when the time does come to crown a champion. This way, every woman involved has a fair chance to show what she's capable of, win or lose. A battle royal or the like would seem way too rushed.
Again, just my tupence. I'm sure that, whatever Dave decides, it'll be best for the company.

I agree that they should get rolling first and then a Ladies World and a Tag Team. Robalure

Yep. This is not going to happen overnight, I know everyone is hungry for a change but have patience.

Good point about not putting "world" on it right off. Shimmer Champion kinda sounds lame, but I cant really think of anything else. "Heavyweight" would sound ridiculous for the kind of promotion I think they are setting out to be--no weight limits, just talent.
I really wish I could think of a better name for the top title though...

A year ago I ran a women's e-wrestling (role-playing game) tournament called the Empress Cup (going on a kinda' "royal" theme). Long story short, what if we borrowed from that, as well as one of the earlier posters' suggestion to give it a kinda' name like ARSION had? So... "SHIMMER Empress" or "Empress of SHIMMER". Thoughts, anyone?

Definitely a singles title to start (I agree the word "World" is a bit much). There aren't enough women on the roster for tags...yet. As the company grows (and it should if this is done right), then bring in the Tag Titles. As far as a secondary title is concerned, that will have to wait until this company gets established. Empress of Shimmer? Interesting. Perhaps a tiara would be a nice change from the usual title belts.

Yeah, I agree. That would remind me too much of GLOW from the mid-80's. While GLOW was entertaining, none of those women could wrestle a damn lick!!! Belts are for wrestling & boxing, crowns are for beauty pageants.

PWI used to give out plaques. How about a trophy (a la GLORY) for the first tourny?
I was just jokin', Chapel. ;D

Shimmer is up to 18 ladies, and if the first show was any indicator, I'm sure they'll have plenty more soon. at least I certain hope so. I think 3 titles at a minimum would be great!! World, Tag and some lower title.

(LOL) I was only kidding about the tiara. GLOW was a joke, anyway.
Seriously, though, a trophy of some sort would by a nice change from the usual title belts. In any case, the should start with the main Shimmer title first, then work their way to a tag team title, and a TV/Internet title. The company needs to grow into it, not get too big too fast. That's why David McLane failed with WOW (among other reasons).

Well if Shimmer is to have a title any time soon I'm guessing that the title holder would either be between Mercedes, Daizee, Sara, or Lacey. This is also a guess, but I think that Lacey would end up being the first champ for SHIMMER. I would also guess that the title would be defended on darkmatches for ROH in between SHIMMER shows. This is all speculation though.

I think a world title should come later. They should come up with a nice secondary title that they put on their ace and if and when they stick around long enough, then pop in a world title and then, give it to their ace again.
Give the first title a snazzy name too, like the X Title (TNA) or the Pure Title (ROH). If possible talk to TNA about working together and get that NWA Women's title over there. I dont know enough about politics to make that suggestion but whatever.
If there are any vacant titles with apast history then there is a start as well, and there should be tons of vacant women's titles around from the glory days of the 50's and 60's. Same with Japanese women's titles.
I am sure SHIMMER front office want their own title, of course. Just some suggestions.
