AMBER O'NEAL - She was SHIMMER's resident "diva", almost a representative of the WWE-style women's wrestling we had rejected by flocking to SHIMMER in the first place. I wasn't impressed with her at the start, and likely most of us weren't either. But over time I was impressed by Amber's charisma and connection with the crowd. Even though we disliked her character, we cared about what she was doing. And when she got the chance to go against tough main-eventers like Mercedes, Danger, and Wesna, Amber stepped up her game as much as anyone ever has in SHIMMER. It was in those matches that she earned my respect, and when I met her after the May '09 tapings she was an absolute sweetheart. Now that she's moved on to other promotions (currently WoW), I miss her a lot more than I thought I would.
LEXIE FYFE & MALIA HOSAKA - I always liked The Experience. They weren't the best wrestlers on the roster by any stretch, but I had fun watching them jaw with the crowd (especially Malia) and beat up the new girls who came in. If you were a new or younger wrestler debuting in SHIMMER during the first 25 volumes or so, it was almost a given that you were getting stomped by these two in a tag team match. It was almost a ritual: jobbing to Fyfe and Hosaka was your initiation, just as jobbing to Cheerleader Melissa was a sign that SHIMMER was testing you for bigger things in the future. It's not the same without 'em.
AMAZING KONG - SHIMMER's resident monster. She wasn't always around but when she was, she never failed to make an impact. Usually on someone's face. I look back fondly on her matches with Roxx, Del Rey, and Wesna, plus her typically brutal send-off of Serena Deeb on Volume 26.
Portia Perez and Tomoka Nakagawa haven't really sunk in for me yet, since I'm still catching up on things. But I'm sorry to see them go as well.

Kana. Although I am happy she is living the dream in the WWE, I will miss seeing her in SHIMMER. Serena Deeb. A fav of mine who is retired. Ayumi Kurihara another favourite of mine who has retired. Ayako Hamada and Hikaru Shida. Both are amazing....don't know if the will ever return but I hope they will. Tomoka Nakagawa. Another fav who retired.

There are more than a few of my favourites who have already been mentioned so for the sake of originality I'll say I really miss all three of the Home Wreckers. Shame Rain & Jetta couldn't have joined Lacey in October.

Eesh... let me see. Del Rey to start off with. Yeah, personally she wasn't the nicest person in the world but who cares. She's the best American women's wrestler of all time. There's no argument. Moolah, Burke, Martel.. none of them could equally get opponents over as a face or heel and none had the skills Sara had. K-Nox...painfully I never saw her in the Eagles Club in person as she wrestled/managed at shows I wasn't at but she would have gone down as one of the greatest of all time had she not got the horrible injury. Those who only know her from WWE are seeing a shell of what she was. Serena... probably the best pure underdog babyface into top star Shimmer had. And a great person on top of it. Chif will always have my heart but let's be honest, to any true diehard Chif fan those last few tapings were super painful to watch, especially the one where Von Eerie carried her out in her arms like a baby. Nikki Roxx... yeah her return to the company despite huge fanfare (we even had a video montage touting the return play at an AAW show) was kind of a letdown as it became apparent she was there to put people over and at times she was clearly phoning it in. Portia... yeah technically she hasn't "missed" a show yet but I think it retrospect this will be the BIGGEST loss ever for Shimmer. This is the living example of "you don't know what you've got til its gone". An absolute heat seeking missile that didn't need to swear or punch fans like other people to get it. All she had to do was walk out, stick out her tongue and rub her tummy. I was at the dentists office in the chair all numbed up a while back when "Edge of Seventeen" came on and couldn't help myself going "Boo boo boo" to everyones confusion. No color commentator has or will come close to Portia's wit and humor as well as knowledge. Yeah, she was an obnoxious jerk but she was OUR obnoxious jerk.

So it's confirmed that none of the aforementioned are coming back to SHIMMER? Not even Ayako Hamada or MsChif? Despite her retirement, I think Serena may be back eventually...she's only 29, and unless she had any major injuries to recuperate from, maybe the ring bug will bite her again. I'm sure being a full-time yoga instructor isn't a bad career path for her but it can't be as exciting as wrestling. ^^ Athena, Kana, Jessie and Britani all went to WWE but we'll see how it works out. The E has consistently shown over the past decade that they have no idea what to do with qualified female wrestlers (though NXT may be an exception), and TNA hasn't been much better since the Knockouts division went downhill in 2010. Nikki, Kong, Serena, Sarah Stock, and others have gone to the bigger promotions and come back, so I don't see it as a paralyzing blow to SHIMMER. The retirements (Del Rey, Portia, Tomoka, Serena, Ayumi) are arguably the greater loss.
