Like everyone, I expect, I had heard that Nicole is going to WWE at some point soon, but my understanding was that she would have enough time to do the anniversary shows and "do the honorable thing." But now ECCW has set up a Loser Leaves Town match between Nicole and Cat Power on Sept. 19, and people are saying the CANUSA Classic will be the "last Ninjas match". I know Nattie wants to get back on TV, and that's not going to happen until she gets her "team", but I thought Nicole had worked out a deal to do SHIMMER.

She might have. Cesaro I think got heat with the WWE because he cancelled his booked appearences to go to the WWE sooner. The fact that Dave has a date for the Autumn tapings means that Nicole, along with Kimber Lee and Cherry Bomb would have been contacted and booked for those shows.

I had no idea Nicole was potentially going to WWE.

Sounds like there will be opportunities for new performers in Shimmer in the next year or so. It's a good thing that women's wrestling in the indies is as healthy as it is. I saw the Lady Luck tournament that Gold Rush Pro Wrestling put on this weekend in Pacifica, CA. Lots of good work by women at various stages of development, and a truly excellent match that Nicole Savoy had with Cheerleader Melissa.

Just Kana, which takes the Shimmer count in WWE to eight. 9 including Del Rey. Athena and Stock are big rumours right now. This is the first I've heard of Matthews.

I think it depends on how far back you count - are we counting Natalya as a SHIMMER girl? My understanding is that SDR is starting to get more say in hiring, which is why both KC and Jessie made it into the last rookie class. She and Natalya were the ones pushing for Nicole, according to what I've been told, and she's a big factor behind Athena and Kana being considered. I think Sarah Stock is going to be coming in as a trainer and a part-time wrestler - possibly along with Nicole on Natalya's new team. I'd love to see more SHIMMER stars make it to NXT, because the money is so much better for them. Just keep them away from Stephanie and RAW. And, while I know Nicole is going to be named something like Juliette and will only still be Canadian for convenience's sake, it will still be sad to see her without Portia. Kana and Athena are going to tear up NXT, though.

She can finish everything up else and go out with a bang at SHIMMER. (A literal bang, if Madison has anything to do with it.)

They signed Nattie straight after her Shimmer appearences more or less. Honestly even if they do sign Nicole, which is a big question mark as I don't know where this is coming from, they won't put her on Raw right away and this stupid team thing will be done in a few weeks anyway. The real news here is- Cat Power's wrestling again???

The real news here is- Cat Power's wrestling again??? I hope you are right, but I never underestimate Stephanie's ability to run something into the ground long past the time it should have stopped. As for Nicole, I wrote a blog column that added a bunch of indy wrestlers, mostly from SHIMMER, into a rebooted WWE women's division. It wasn't written with any particular inside information, but afterward, someone who should know said that I got two people right. One was Sarah Stock and the other was Nicole. Since then, the rumor about Sarah has popped up everywhere, but no one else has been talking about Nicole, so we'll see if they were right. They know an awful lot about women's wrestling, and knew about "Becky Lynch" before I heard it anywhere else, so I tend to believe them. Cat's been wrestling for a while in ECCW in Vancouver - feuding with Nicole - and she's spending a lot of time in Japan. She's done two fairly long tours, and has a third one coming up later this year.

Excluding WWE wrestlers Cat is at the top of my wishlist of wrestlers I'd like to see return behind Tiana Ringer.

I was making a list of people I would to have show up at the anniversary weekend, and Cat's definitely on it. (Of course, according to one blog I saw today, the ECCW loser-leaves-town match is because Cat's going to the WWE! Maybe everyone is going to NXT/WWE. Are you going? I haven't gotten a call yet.)
