The Bellas would be much more suitable because they are actually good heels to begin with, rather than it just being a reaction against model wrestlers. Kelly is completely terrible, whereas the twins are decent in the ring and are charismatic.

^ To be honest; It was the lousiness of a match I saw featuring one of The Bella twins V.S. AJ Lee that inspired me to look up indie women's wrestling, and subsequently discover SHIMMER in the first place.
I suppose you could do much worse (such as Kelly Kelly) indeed, but quite frankly; The Bella Twins are still no match for any SHIMMER star IMO, and would be a blemish on the shows.

Weird match to choose to make you give up on the divas. All the Bella vs AJ matches have plenty of good things about them.
Anyway I don't think they'd be a blemish at all - except in a good way. The Diva style would be an absolutely awesome dynamic in a Shimmer ring. I know it will never happen but it would be fantastic.

^ That's true about the "Diva" style providing a nice dynamic to the SHIMMER events. The thing is; Amber O'Neal already did that. Hell; that's pretty much Amber's whole gimmick really.
The difference was that Amber could actually wrestle reasonably well, and just acted like a diva to mess with the fans. Whereas the Kelly Kelly's and The Bella's would be pretty much the opposite.

It would certainly be interesting to see if the "Sid Theory" still applies in 2013...

Yeah, but there's a big difference between someone pretending and the Bellas actually being who they are that would make it so much better. And the twins kill Amber for natural athleticism - I don't recall O'Neal doing anything like Nikki's lucha style running up the turnbuckles armdrag for instance.

I would really love to see Yoshiko and Kyoko Kimura turn up in Shimmer. They're two of the few joshi girls around that have genuine charisma. Kimura in particular is awesome; great look, sense of humour, tough as nails.
Nikki Storm is another. I don't think she's done much work in the US yet but she'd be a fantastic addition. The promos would be great, especially if paired with the equally angry Saraya.

As for Nikki, she's been announced for AIW in Ohio 2 weeks before Shimmer, so watch this space...

The good thing about performers that work in WWE is that they become pretty dang good performers, whether or not they are great technical wrestlers, so when you see them in a tiny room, it's like "Wow!" There's a promotion in my area that brings in ex-WWE people as guest stars for their shows and they're always very entertaining. If the Bellas came to a Shimmer show and were into it, I'm sure they would be mega-entertaining, despite the fact that I can't recall ever being even slightly impressed by their work in the ring.

The Bella's have never done anything entertaining from what I can recall (although I admit, I haven't seen the 'Total Divas' thing). They couldn't even use their twin gimmick now that one's got herself the big old boobs. AJ Lee would be fun though. But if I was going to fantasy book one WWE star into SHIMMER it would be Vickie Guerrero. She'd be a great personality/manager to have around.

I'd need ear-plugs to be in a small room with Vickie G. I'd love to see AJ Lee perform in a small hall. I bet she would be a lot of fun, and I could see her fitting in with the Shimmer crowd. I was actually very impressed by Alicia Fox last night, seeing her at a WWE house show against Kaitlyn. Alicia had a lot of innovative moves, was probably one of the most creative performers in terms of her ring-work on the entire card. She was doing these submission moves that were just beautiful! She was fighting Kaitlyn, who was way over with the crowd but quite clumsy as a wrestler. Alicia made the whole match, for me, with well-done innovative offense and great selling of everything that Kaitlyn did, no matter how poorly she did it.

I saw Barbi Hayden for the first time this weekend on iPPV. Her presence was amazing, and I was impressed with her ring work. Would TOTALLY love to see her in Chicago this OCT!

When Shimmer started it was almost a stretch to find enough good talent to put on a 2 dvd volume show. Now there are so many good female wrestlers out there that you could conceivably put on a single 6 or 8 volume taping with everyone getting one match. Right now aside from the recognizable names ( all of whom I'd of course like to see at Shimmer ), most of the west coast girls are still fairly new and not yet really ready for it yet. But Savannah Riley is one wrestler people should be looking out for. She's mostly worked for PWBushido & Fighting Spirit Pro & is getting around to other promotions, putting on good matches. Reia Von Slasher from up in B.C. is pretty entertaining too.
