Word is apparently the end of the month, which means they won't be available at the shows. Shame.

Britani & Saraya creating a inpromptu episode of Jerry Springer aside the best match honor should go to Melissa vs Kana while Kellie Skater vs Hiroyo Matsumoto along with Portia Perez vs Serena Deeb sharing honors for matches worth mentioning.

Excellent. Just finished watching 43 & 44 this weekend. Sadly I couldn't attend that day of tapings live, but it was quite good. Seeing it as a story-arc, I think it should all be seen together building to where its culmination.
It feels like there's a lot of brawling in these two, but surprisingly, it works well here. I guess I've grown tired of it and frankly bored with brawling on the outside or "beat downs" in the ring with security stepping in to separate, from watching too much TNA (and its awful use of it). However in the situations it arises in Shimmer, it seems done well. It isn't just people flipping out and attacking each other for no reason and just punching each other forever until we all fall asleep. The emotions and characters work with it and its done in an interesting way that somehow feels fresh.
The "hardcore" aspects also, while nowhere near a CZW show (which it's not trying to be), are done sparingly enough that it doesn't feel excessive. We don't mind seeing this, even though we've seen it done to death in other promotions.
Out of curiosity, what's the difference between a "No Holds Barred" Match and a "No Disqualification" match? No rope breaks? My only complaint (and this is perhaps "pro wrestling logic" where things matter except when they don't) is that sometimes stuff just doesn't happen. Like let's say there's count outs, but both wrestlers are outside the ring and don't get counted out. Granted, the audience would be upset if there was a double-count out, but then either you make it a no-count out match or you make sure they're back in before the count out (or make it 20 or whatever).
Anyway, not sure which I like better 41-42, or 43-44. But 43 is defiantly a "must buy"! Great matches, characters, visual quality and great overall. The commentary is good and you can still hear a lot of what the wrestlers are saying underneath.

There have been count-outs and double-count outs in SHIMMER. Del Rey was counted out against Christina Von Eerie on Volume 37, while LuFisto and Amazing Kong were both counted out in their match on Volume 27.

This was first in my pile of the recent stuff I still had to watch on DVD. A really nicely balanced show, from Davina showing promise in her match with Nicole, to Matsumoto and Skater having some fun over the Pikachu hat, to the emergence of Courtney Rush; also Mia Yim's impressive showing against Yumi Ohka, Athena's first battle with Mercedes, the all time great brawl between Britani and Saraya, the awesome No Holds Barred match with Portia and Serena, the tag title match, and the best match on this volume, Melissa and Kana waging war.
I'd go as far as saying this would be an ideal DVD to introduce a new fan to, a very solid overall card, some names breaking through, and a really good three match stretch to end the show.

Superb volume, one of the best ever imo. I disagree with everyone's 'best match' pick though. Kana/Melissa was good yeah, but the main event was on another level! You also had the great hardcore brawl, the hilarious Skater/Hiroyo match, the fun Roxx/Rush contest and the superb technical MsChif/Nakagawa match. Then there is McKay vs Britani. Great match, even better aftermath! The pop when Britani attacked her mother was one of the loudest pops I've heard on these DVD's.
Also Lufisto vs Svensson was a terrific opener!

^ I loved Britani vs Jessie as well. Melissa v.s. Kana was very good but coul've been better to a degree. The Main event was an underrated gem in SHIMMER's catalogue IMO.
