The 4-way concept is pretty good as you could have at least one person 'steal' their way into the QF spot. See, that's one of the reasons why I ain't into the 4-corner thing. And we've already had someone steal their way into the semi-final, so that's kinda been done already (albeit at a previous show). Do we know how long the Friday show's sheduled to run for? I mean, with 5 4-corner matches, a battle royal and 3 QF's (that you'd hope would each get a fair bit of time), that sounds like a busy card including any non-tournament matches too.

I mean, with 5 4-corner matches, a battle royal and 3 QF's (that you'd hope would each get a fair bit of time), that sounds like a busy card including any non-tournament matches too. Most wrestling shows at the Royal British Legion (Friday April 8) run 3hrs15 and we'll be looking to keep it to that. So doors open at 7pm, show begins 7.30pm and will finish at 10.45pm. Afterwards we'll heading to Project Nightclub on the Norwich Waterfront where everyone is welcome to join us. Wrestling events at The Delphi Club (Saturday April 9) have all previously run around 2 and a half hours but this we have extended this one's running time because of the nature of it featuring the Championship Semi-Finals and Final, therefore doors are at 6.30pm, bell is at 7 and the show will finish at 10pm. As always at The Delphi Club those who attend are welcome to stay and mingle with everyone while we are there and the roster are of course available for photos etc.

Even without all the contestants named so far, having Saraya and Britani on either side of the drawer does suggest how things might play out. The obvious outcome will be Britani losing controversially to Jetta in the semi-final, setting the scene for a Saraya/Jetta final.
But Eve have surprised us before, so anything could happen. Hopefully! ;D

EVE sadly just reported that the Royal British Legion in Norwich has cancelled the show on Friday due to issues with it being an all-female show. EVE are scrambling to find a venue in Norwich in time for Friday night, and I really hope they do.

If the promotion had the hall booked for the event, the hall should honor the rental. That they can get away with canceling the event on five days notice like this is just plain wrong. That their reason for canceling the event is based on sexism, in 2011, is mind blowing. EVE should take this to the press.

I know, that's scandalous. EVE say they're considering suing.
I've tried getting the word out, let Lagana and I Want Wrestling know about it, and I'm sure Dave will have something to say on the matter.

Completely ridiculous. Tickets have already been sold, talent booked, travel arranged, etc. By canceling the show, the venue opens itself up to the potential bad publicity that will result. The most important thing is that EVE finds a suitable replacement venue for the show, but local television and newspapers should be tipped off about the situation. This is something that's either begging for a lawsuit against the venue, or in the very least, some form of public outcry for this sexist decision that the venue management made. Situations like this are one of the many reasons why SHIMMER only runs one venue, where we know the owner and can rely on the venue.

Thanks for that - I have tickets to both shows, and decided to base myself in Norwich for the weekend. I booked on a saver rate, which means I can't get my money back on the hotel if I cancel, so that will be money wasted if there is no show. That's why I really hope Dann is able to get a venue booked, especially since he's booking a two night tournament.

I'm sure you aren't the only one. I would imagine the venue axed the show based on one or two calls. They should be made aware of how many people like you are negatively affected. That would be considerably more than one or two calls.

I'm almost certain there's no such complaints if it was an all-male show. My only thought is that they thought people were only going to leer at girls. They should know the target market far better than that. Disgraceful.

According to Ricky Knight on Eve's FB page, it's actually got nothing to do with the show being all-female and simply because the venue doesn't have the correct licence to stage a wrestling show. Although how this has only just come to light 4 days before the show is baffling.
Honestly, I don't care where they stage it now, even if it's somewhere else in the country entirely and I lose the money on the hotel I booked in Norwich... Just so long as it goes ahead somewhere, anywhere, I'll be happy!!!
