Just finished watching the dvd extremely enjoyable match of the volume for me was hamada vs tomoka it was so hard hitting. This volume had such a great feel like volume 29, its so great seeing improvement in wrestlers on the first batch of the 4 volume also like volume 23. And like usual portia was on fire on commentary.

Looking forward to seeing Matthews/McKay II. Their first match was one of my absolute favorites. Their first match was great, but their second match is even better. There's one sweet spot that happens. I don't want to ruin for everybody because it's that awesome. I watched the DVD a couple of nights ago and really enjoyed. It's one of the volumes where I can watch it from top to bottom without wanting to skip a match or two. It's nice to go back and see things you forgot about or things you didn't catch before. My top three matches had to be: Jessie McKay vs. Nicole Matthews Ayako Hamada vs. Tomoka Nakagawa Melissa vs. Madison Eagles

The commentary between Dave and Portia during Hamada/Nakagawa was absolutely hysterical. We need a big list of things that are not illegal but merely frowned upon. That one cracks me up, too. It reminds me of when a girlfriend came along to one of the local shows, and we tried to explain the rules to her: "You can't pull hair or hit with a closed fist, but you can kick them in the face and elbow their skulls all you want; and you can pretty much do anything until the ref counts to five..." Perez says something about hairpulling never sent her to the hospital. Great stuff. There's also a bit during the RAJETT vs. Athena & Bonesaw match (IIRC) where Dave is making some joke about toast and Portia no-sells him in a very weary, hilarious way. I gotta watch this volume again tomorrow.

So who else skipped straight to Serena Deeb vs. Skater when they first watched the DVD?

Watched this for the first time last night, from first to last, all the way thru. Totally blown away! Every match delivered.
A few thoughts...
Athena is going to be (even more) awesome in a couple years.
Bonesaw has that look, the presence...but with her in-ring skills, she shouldn't have been on the main card yet.
Kellie Skater just keeps improving. it's not even that she needs to improve, she is awesome as it is, but she is raising the bar, time and time again. Her due is coming, she deserves some true recognition.
Jesse vs Matthews=AWESOMENESS. I didnt expect it at all, which was a great surprise. I liked them, but these two made me a fan of me.
Nakagawa vs Hamada - Nakagawa keeps exceeding expectations
Melissa vs Eagles - Big time fight feeling. Watching this, nore than any other match on the card, it "felt" like two main eventers were wrestling. Beautiful match. Already a melissa fan, Eagles won me over too.

Brilliant volume. I honestly think it's up there with Volumes 20 and 23 as one of the best top-to-bottom great shows Shimmer has done.
McKay vs. Matthews is as good as people here having been saying, better than their first match, but for me Hamada vs. Nakagawa is the show steala. Amazing match and some of the most brutal kicks I have seen from both women.

Joey Eastman was one of my favorite ring announcers, but now I have to put him at the top of my "Worst Ring Announcers" list for the faux pas of using "backslash" when introducing the Athena/Bonesaw team. That punctuation mark is a SLASH, Eastman! Not backslash! The only place backslashes are used are computer systems! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_%28punctuation%29en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backslash

Seems as if ROH has sold out of this volume.
