I've generally been against the idea of having a "second row ticket price" in a venue as small as the Eagles Club. The only real difference is being front row versus being "anywhere else."
The DVD market in late 2010 is a lot different than what it was in 2007. We have no choice but to rely on the live gate (plus 39TEN) to cover the majority of the costs of putting these shows on nowadays.
I'd like to see everyone else's opinion. Decreasing capacity by 75 seats is literally three grand in potential ticket money for talent paydays, airline tickets, hotel rooms, etc. for the crew on a given weekend.
It's times like these that I begin to hate wrestling.

$5 bump is reasonable as I imagine the fans who do get a chance to buy tickets will be the 175 most committed. It's an amazing value for two shows featuring international talent. You can't get that anywhere else.
The front row price has raised at least $20 over the time I've been buying tickets -- a necessary cost for more talented wrestlers from around the world. Everyone who attends gets to experience these increasingly awesome shows + intermissions + after parties, so the GA price being raised a bit is fair.

Yes. We have a process for placing a ticket request when they go on sale. All of the information will be posted on the board on Wednesday, November 24th at 7pm Central time. Basically, once the info is up, you place a ticket request for the number of tickets in each price range you are interested in. If your requested tickets are still available, you will be given information to submit payment for the tickets.
Though this is clearly a huge hit for the promotion, I can't see it as a bad thing. The truth is the building has been tremendously overcrowded for the last several tapings I've attended. (I missed the last one, but had been at every other one before that from Volumes 5 & 6 on) And judging by the sardine tin conditions at intermission, it's been a national news level massacre waiting to happen in the event of some sort of electrical mishap--a thought that I have to admit crossed my mind with the MacGuyver'ed lighting for, IIRC, the Volume 27-28 taping.
The Eagles Club is certainly a venue with charms, but SHIMMER outgrew it long ago. There have got to be other venues in the Chicagoland are with higher capacity that have their own positive atmosphere to move the promotion to.
I remember vol 21 and 22 were not sellouts after the 3 prior tapings were sellouts.
Plus with the cutdown in how many tickets will be offered, it makes it more of a horserace and 75 "regulars" who would originally be allowed in may get turned away. ]it may be the majority of the die hard regulars (the brit squad, vsavior, nykk, etc) who are quick on the draw to get their tickets plus several first time comers and those who have been to prior tapings but aren't the die hards. Even for me knowing it's my birthday weekend, Come jan I may be shut out as well.
