Stuff atm (USA, PWAQ, Nattie)
Current mood:meh.
So while im sitting here kinda bored (trying to wait out jetlag) and depressed (about my dog, everything else is great), I figured id write a whats been going on blog and cheer myself up, cos hey life in general is good.
Well so far 09 has been the year of going for what I want. I decided to make the trek over to the USA and start properly chasing goals. More on that later though. I think I finally realised I've gotta go for what I want properly and stop stressing on what other people will think about that. Makes me a much more chillaxed happier person I think. O-K, the rundown of whats been going on the last few weeks.
PWAQ: The Last Women Standing between me and Sway..... Hmmm. Was a match I knew would be brutal, however I didn't quite expect it to be so short, violent and bloody. Scariest thing is how little it fazed me being covered in my own blood. Should have been far less stubborn and gotten stitches after the match. Getting stitches days later sucks. Photos looked kinda cool though Night out afterwards was also fun. That Karaoke bar is awesome.
Friends: Stuff with buddies has been going pretty well, would like to see more of some but hey, we are all busy busy! Loving having my giant homie in the second rate B-town though, makes for good entertainment!
USA Trip: This will be the biggest portion of my blog, cos hey it's big for me! This was my first time leaving Australia. Was fairly daunting, but I freaked alot less than I thought I would! I flew out of Melbourne to LA (with a tech. stop in Sydney), then from LA to Chicago. Was a vey very long flight for a hyperactive person! Funny thing was one of the hosts made a comment about whether I even moved during the flight. I even suprised myself how chillaxed I was on the plane. Putting Marley and Me as a flight movie is a BAD idea btw! I got into Chicago and grabbed my bags and waited for Tenille and DP which was an adventure in itself. Minorly freaking out experience!
We headed off to a cafe to grab some tea with some peeps. This was a new experience in learning about American food. First thing I learnt, meals are HUGE! American small sizes are Aussie larges. After dinner, DP very kindly despite his tiredness drove us to go see.... WOLVERINE!!! The X-men mark in me was very very happy!! I quite enjoyed the movie. Then we headed back off to our hotel and got a bit of sleep.
Tenille (who btw is from my home state of Victoria) and I decided to grab some Dennys for brekky. A hint for anyone ordering there.... Avoid Corn grits. Seriously what the helllllll are Corn grits!! Never order what you don't know about! After brekky we headed back to the hotel, where our crazy (in a great way) night one roomies where getting ready to head out. We ended up going with them and got to go see Navy Pier! That was awesome. Especially the Ferris Wheel (one word... Fook). Was ace to do something touristy! We then headed off to the most depressing place I've been recently, the animal shelter. That place is seriously not cool. The pets are cute though. Oh btw, Roads in Chicago are full of potholes. Potholes are also not cool.
Headed out to a show that night, AAW. Didn't get to see any of the matches though, kinda just chilled and met new people. Everyone seemed cool. Met the person who is probs the funniest I've ever met, Daff shes a real pisser Although the IHWC are all close seconds. Seriously... pjs and face masks? Crazy kids The way home was awesome..... why? Because not only was the company rad, but we got... wait for it.... TACO FREAKING BELLS. And whats cooler than that?? Taco bells with SLURPEES. Yeah!! One of the best slurpees I've had too! Then we headed off to La-la land because the next two days were going to be busy... why?....
SHIMMER tapings: Very nerve wracking for me. Got to meet the rest of the roster. Amazing atmosphere. Was very impressed. The thing I liked best was the willingness of the Vets to help out the rookies. It suprised and impressed me how easily willing to help certain people were. I really wish all lockerrooms were like that. In my first match for Shimmer, I wrestled.... an Anime? I wrestled Lufisto in my first match when she answered a challenge I set out. Probs wasn't the wisest challenge as I ended up eating a burning hammer. Guess its a good thing im "Indie-structable" I also got to wrestle a girl made of dynamite, a feline, ande a princess among others. Haha. Results of my matches were,
Lufisto def. Skater with burning hammer
Skater def. Jess Mckay with roll-up (tights? what tights )
Cat Power def. Rachael Summerlyn, Ariel and Skater
Jessie Mckay def. Skater, Jen Blake and Melaine Cruise via Boyfriend Stealer.
Big thankyou to DP for giving me the opportunity to come over and get an awesome learning experience. Can't wait to see everyone again whether its here, or over there. Anyone of the girls is quite welcome at mine anytime. Also big thankyou to Rayna for the make-up help. Thanks for putting up with my girly un-coness!
Pics and other stuff pending!
Speaking of pics, have some rad ones from the afterparty. I had a pretty good time getting to know some of the other girls. Everyones very cool. BTW, the Commonwealth Invasion is awesome Also i've decided that the Canadian Ninjas are super stealth... Why? People know their identity, yet they r still stealth enough to get away with ****. Talent. Why is this, because they are from the Commonwealth. yep. Partied a little too hard at the afterparty. Just in case my kid sister reads this... Trying to out drink people is a dumb idea!! Don't do it, or I'll kick your arse! Ended up with a killer hangover, so as punishment for being a drunk tool, 2 months drinking ban! (My livers rejoicing). Plus it kinda bothers me I could get that smashed, its been awhile since that level. Apologies to anyone if I was a dick while I was drunk. I'll fully accept any arse kickings.
Getting on the plane back to Aus. sucked for a few reasons. Not just because of my quesy stomach, but because I knew I already regretted going back so soon. I think USA/Canada is the place I need to be to improve my wrestling atm. And for me thats incredibly important. So basically as soon as I can i'll be back for awhile! Quick shout out to my buddy Tenille, have an awesome time travelling!! Kick some arse girl!
Anyway run down of the trip. Wrestling wise, loved the learning experience. People? Very cool. Awesome time had all round.
Stuff back home:
Came home to some pretty bad news. My dog (Whippet) Nattie got put down a few hrs before I got home. We've had her since I was 7-8 yrs old, and she was suffering so it was for the best and she'd lived a full life. But still. It sucks. Also one of our rabbits got put down while I was gone, it was never well, we think it was brought fromt the shop dodgy. You never want to see something you love die, even when you know it was for the best. All I can say though really is R.I.P Nattie, you were a good hypo, skinny little dog.
Eh, hope you enjoy and ignore any potential spelling mistakes. Screw it, im letlagged
