If this is the 25th Anniversary, does that mean WrestleMania I was the 1st Anniversary? They needed a cute little tag line. WWE can't be bothered with facts. And isn't it sad that the first time the Intercontinental Championship has been defended at Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania 18 ends in under a minute? How do you have a four hour show, and have the audacity to present a 30-second match? I didn't really expect much from that match. It was just a random match to fill some time on the card. There was no buildup or anything. However, I too did not expect it to be over in the amount of time it took for me to get a glass of water.

I know that Bradshaw had to drop the title so he can go back to commentating on SmackDown, but a 30-second match on a 4-hour show, really? Can something that short really be called a filler, anyway?

Well, they needed every second apparently. In fact, I think they had to cut the closing video short as they, again, used every second.

They also cut the tag title match from the PPV due to time.

Yeah it was a full 4 hour ppv and except for Bradshaw losing in under 20 seconds I enjoyed ever second of it.

You enjoyed Kid Rock?

LOL. I know I didn't...especially since they showed it instead of introducing the divas for the battle royal. I would much rather see a 10 minute Sunny entrance than see Kid Rock perform.

...Wow, sounds like they kinda blew 25 like they blew 2; both were supposed to be big "we can still do it" moments. Well, I'm sure the WWE fans enjoyed it.

So they remove a tag team match that's supposed to unify both titles....and have a 30s IC title match...and a Kid Rock concert that did nothing for anybody. Hmm, they should have brought in Megadeth. I would have paid money to see them do Washington is Next on a WWE stage.
I guess the larger statement is that if Wrestlemania was a complete flop (that's what I'm hearing anyways) then a lot of things have to change in the WWE. I think maybe it's time for Vince to step down and hand things off to Shane.
The most unfortunate aspect of it all is that they were able to put on a fantastic match while the rest of the matches kind of sucked I guess?
To summarize: Don't bother with the WWE. Pop in Shimmer or PWG or idk what. At least then you'll get your money's worth.

I knew about JBL having to retire because of an injury, but I heard his contract was up in June I think and would ride out the rest of his contract I presumed. I guess I'm wrong again, he was only a champ for about 3 weeks or so.

The wrestling as a priority is lost because it's about the big spectacle. WWE is never going to change, tho. For every internet fan that didn't think it was good there's 100 WWE fans that will gladly give their money for more big fancy pro wrestling-lite. I know there must be a happy middle ground but they've taken steps in the last 4 years to further distance themselves from "wrasslin'" in every way while still, somehow, remaining "wrasslin" like (by having things like Kid Rock around). I guess it's true, you can't really run away from your true self. I'm a wallaby.

I must say that I was pretty disappointed in the outcome of the Triple H/Orton match. For the McMahon Family (and I guess Legacy) to be involved so much in the build up, you'd think they would of been somehow involved in this match. But instead we get next to nothing of a climax where Triple H just punches Randy Orton 1,000 times before he delivers the pedigree.

I could be wrong, but it seems as though the internet market is growing quite a bit. Over time, I've noticed more and more promotions selling their shows as DVD's to get by. The number just keeps going up and up and up...
Anyhow, I didn't watch Wrestlemania, I watched the Braves beat the Phillies while I was doing my laundry. I might relax this morning (it's 1 am already) with some more G1 Climax 2004. I'm looking forward to seeing Takayama vs. Sasaki.

We're back to the Hogan-era as far as how main event matches are handled. No more HBK vs. Bret/Razor 5 star insta-classics. The internet market is where the bread is buttered for things not mainstream. This goes for wrestling as well as music and comedy, it's a powerful tool for showing people that there is an alternative to the mainstream. And dare I say it, the WWE is going to keep getting weaker if it keeps doing things like this and the young bucks will rise.
