Greetings everyone!
My name's Joe, I'm 28, from Brooklyn, NY. I don't know a ton about SHIMMER or women's wrestling in general, though I really loved the one Shimmer show I have watched (I have three on DVD, but only watched one of them...bad Joe, I know) and have become somewhat of a fan of Joshi thanks to Chikara and ROH's Mania weekend shows in Atlanta last year. I actually have about 6 or so Joshi company DVDs that I bought while the ladies were over here on those weekends.
My girlfriend is really interested in women's wrestling (she'd train if it were easier to do, time wise) and I'll likely suggest that she join this board as well, but one of the main things that brought me here is we're thinking about coming out for the October tapings! She complained to me the other day that we've never seen a live women's wrestling show and she wants to fix that. I figure if anywhere will be able to help me figure out potential travel plans to the tapings, it's this forum!

Hi everybody, my name is Andrej. I am a 33 year old male from Germany. I registered here a long time ago to find out more about SHIMMER, the Roster and the DVD Production / DVD Sale. Today I finally wrote my first Message in the Questionnaire-Thread, this is my second message. Good rate, ey? What else could I write about myself? I started watching Wrestling in the early 90s. After 1996 I wasn't interested in Wrestling anymore till early 2005. In 2K5 I started to watch WWE again. In 2008 I visited my first Indy Show in Germany (German Stampede Wrestling and monts later Westside Xtreme Wrestling). After that experience I moved my focus more and more to the International Indy Scene. I think my first contact with SHIMMER was also in 2008. I used the Internet to find out more about such female Wrestlers like Amazing Kong, Nikki Roxx and Wesna Busic.

Hello I'm Quils from Howard Beach, NY. I found SHIMMER just last year when I was looking for some good women's wrestling. I watched one DVD and I was hooked.

Hi folks, I'm Patrick. I live on the south side of Chicago. I actually learned about Shimmer from an old wrestling radio show (Rumble Radio on WXAV, if anyone knows of it). They introduced me to much of the Indie Wrestling I've learned about and become hooked on.
I have tickets to Shimmer 49-52 and am hoping that I can go... hoping.
I've been watching DVDs that my friends own to prepare myself for my first Shimmer

Hey guys, my name is Aaron, I'm 19, and I'm from Orange, California. Before I got around to SHIMMER, I was mostly hooked on CHIKARA's wrestling. In most of the CHIKARA DVD's I watched, the commentators always mentioned that Sara Del Rey (one of my favorite wrestlers) was SHIMMER's very first champion. This would lead me to look for these DVD's. I bought volumes 19-22 this summer and became hooked ever since. My goal for the future is to become a professional wrestler and my ideal first step towards realizing that goal is to make the trip out east to see it up close. I hope to make my first wrestling trip to see both of my favorite promotions, CHIKARA and SHIMMER in 2013. I'm sorry if this introduction is long and drawn out, but this is perhaps the best way I can think of to tell people how much I like wrestling.

Hi everyone.
I'm Lance, I'm from the far west suburbs of Chicago (Batavia) and I found out about Shimmer through Brandon Stroud, who writes about wrestling for uproxx. Have yet to see a SHIMMER match, but I'm hoping to grab tickets for the april show and make my first match a live one. Decided to jump in with SHIMMER because I've been getting into Joshi on YouTube lately and I hear SHIMMER goes all out in flying in the best from that world. Looking forward to experiencing a great local promotion. Bull Nakano forever!

Hi my name is Ada and I am from England. I have been a wrestling fan since I was a kid and I still love it today. Always far more fascinated by the female wrestlers and characters than the men. Watched GLOW, GAIA, WWF, WWE and now I can only get access to TNA, what I buy or what I can watch on YouTube. Just started to collect the Shimmer DVDs, and then I want to tae a look at the Shine promotion too! I am not an expert and I only know what I like and why I like it. Favourite Shimmer wrestlers are Del Rey, Cheerleader, Mschif and Athena. Outside of Shimmer there are just too many to mention. Not my I dislike really. Anyway, I look forward to chatting to you guys on here soon. Feel free to message me or say hi anytime. Never get tired of talking Womens wrestling.
Cheers Ad

I'm fairly new to SHIMMER Wrestling. I've only heard about it through ROH, since some, if not all, of the ladies wrestle on ROH TV from time to time. Admittedly, I don't own any SHIMMER videos, but I've recently purchased the PDF version of the Filsinger Games published SHIMMER WOMENS ATHELETES wrestling card game, mainly because I needed to bolster my ROH roster.
From time to time, I'll post results of my Filsinger Games SHIMMER fed, GLIMMER WRESTLING, on this board. GLIMMER WRESTLING will be set in the same time period as my ROH fed, Ring of Respect (which is set in the year 2127 in Filsinger Games CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY wrestling card game time. I'm using a "blanket" explanation once given by the games' creator Tom Filsinger for those players who want to play their feds in the same time period as the sci-fi inspired CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY wrestling card game that all of the ROH and SHIMMER wrestlers appearing in Ring of Respect and GLIMMER are clones of their real-time counterparts, which is why I've changed the names of both promotions to Ring of Respect and GLIMMER respectively.)
Also, I will eventually post JPGs of a few of the girls who've wrestled for SHIMMER in the past, Hailey Hatred (and possibly even her old Heartland Wrestling Association heel identity Bobbi Jo Jablonski), Nevaeh, and Mena Libra, for those who buy the game and wish to use the cards for their roster.

Hey everyone, I'm Dan. I'm 25, from the south of England, Chichester to be precise, and I'm depending on how you look at it I've been watching wrestling for 13 years or about 6.
I started watching wrestling back at Royal Rumble 2000 - when Channel 4 stopped showing WWF/E over here in around 2004 (I think) I all but lost touch with wrestling, but after seeing CM Punk's infamous promo I got dragged back in, and I ended up discovering women's wrestling, and independent wrestling in general, towards the end of 2011, thanks largely to a former SHIMMER starlet...
I was playing TEW 2010 and, having downloaded a real world mod, I was looking for people to sign when I saw a young girl by the name of Britani Knight. Having seen that she was (a) English; and (b) unfairly beautiful, I deciced that I needed to learn more about her, and soon ended up watching her matches on YouTube. This eventually led me to somehow discover her match against her mother Saraya on SHIMMER 44, and after watching that show (I'll admit it, I ended up watching it online somewhere) I was hooked.
I immediately went and bought that show, along with volume 38 and the rest of 41-46, and I've been a SHIMMER fan ever since, with the Kana v LuFisto match from SHIMMER 44 being one of my favourite matches of all time.
I was hoping to come to WrestleCon to see my first SHIMMER show, but a combination of not being able to get time off work & a lack of knowledge about what's needed to travel to America prevented that from happening. As such, I'm hoping to get to the tapings towards the end of the year (October?) to experience SHIMMER first hand, so expect to see me begging for advice soon. Until then I'll be watching volume 53 on iPPV and expanding my SHIMMER DVD collection beyond the seven volumes I currently own.
When it comes to posting here, my main goal is not to make too much of a fool of myself. Pretty sure I'll fail at that within a few posts, but at least this way I can say I've tried. I have literally no real world friends who like wrestling anymore, and the few people I know from another (non-wrestling) forum that like wrestling don't follow women's wrestling so I basically don't know a single person that I can talk about women's wrestling with. In other words, even if I make a complete idiot of myself you'll probably be stuck with me. So yeah, sorry about that...

Hi everybody, my name is Bill. I'm from St. Louis, MO. I initially became aware of Shimmer through matches in other promotions, namely ROH and Chikara. Around November, I bought my first Shimmer DVD (Vol. 21), primarily because I'm a longtime fan of Daizee Haze and MsChif. Since then I've caught up on highlights from the first 39 or so volumes through ClickWrestle and bought volumes 40-48 on DVD. I look forward to talking with you guys!
