Hello everyone,
I am from the Boston area and brand new to the forum. I found out about Shimmer from my brother. I had been a fan of women's professional wrestling for a long time. After WCW ceased to exist, the WWF/WWE was the only show I knew where to find. I became very discouraged and disappointed with their product after Lita's injury and Molly Holly's departure in 2005... and stopped watching. In 2008, I caught the feud on TNA programming between Taylor Wilde and Raisha Saeed/Awesome Kong. The excitement and enjoyment started to come back. I told my brother about it and he then introduced me to Shimmer.
I have absolutely loved each volume I have seen ever since. I am a bigger fan than I have ever have been. Shimmer is, in my opinion, the elite all female professional wrestling promotion in the United States, possibly the world. It is very entertaining and satisfying to see not only excellent wrestling, promos, booking and amazing talent rosters, but also a respectful company that rewards women for the right reasons. Though the wrestlers are certainly beautiful, they are judged on in ring ability, personality and being strong ambassadors for the art. Shimmer is a great show EVERY time!

Hi guys ! My name is Robert, I´m 21 years old and I´m from Slovakia . I started watching Shimmer few months ago, and it quickly became my favourite wrestling organization...words can´t describe how amazing these female talents are, I´m addicted to Shimmer ! ;D I am a huge fan of Cheerleader Melissa, the best wrestler ever....but I´m also a fan of Britani Knight, Jesse McKay, Nicole Matthews and Portia Perez....I have my own website and I work as a amateur wrestling journalist, and I was lucky to get an interview witch Jessie McKay recently.... I am writing and translating wrestling news, spoilers and articles for my website (the biggest in Slovakia and Czech Republic) cause wrestling in our countries is not that popular, so I´m trying to make it more popular....I made three interviews yet, with Steve Corino, Johnny Devine and Jessie McKay (any interest for this ?) Besides that, I´m a huge old-school wrestling fan, I love the old WWF, WCW and NWA....my wrestling idol is Adam "Edge" Copeland, I´m the EdgeHead of EdgeHeads Iam glad to be here guys The Krupy

Hey everyone, I am a huge fan of Shimmer and have been since I picked up my first dvd at a Ring Of Honor show in NYC about 2 years ago. I've purchases Shimmer 1-40 maybe missing 2 volumes in there somewhere. I am really looking foward to the day when I can see Shimmer live either by travelling to Chicago or if Shimmer comes tot the NY, NJ or Philly area. My favorite has to be Cheerleader Melissa but I really love almost everyone on the roster so there's no use listing names like Sara Del Rey, Daffney, Cat Power, Canadian Ninjas, MsChiff & Hamada and alums like Amazing Kong, Beth Phoenix, & Nattie Neidhart. I've only gotten to see ONE Shimmer match live which was Sara Del Rey vs Kong @ an ROH show. I've tried to get all my friends into Shimmer but my guy friends are more interested in porn than women athletes not to mention I've made ALL my friends sick of wrestling though the years. I love ROH but there's something about the style of Shimmer that's awesome. Shimmer doesn't use cheap gimmicks, spot-fests, absurd highflying stunts or crazy blood to get over. There's something pure about the wrestling. I know I'm not supposed to say this but the women are ALL beautiful too. OH and I'm around crowdwork all the time and Shimmer heels and faces too have the BEST crowdwork and I love a lot of the theme songs. I feel like I can save a trip to Japan to and just see Shimmer here in the US.

Hello everyone. My name is Rob and I'm from England in the UK. I've been a wrestling fan for what is just a few months shy of twenty years now although I only started watching Shimmer about 2 years ago. I believe I first heard about the company while searching for wrestling forums and such online and as I'm a fan of womens wrestling I thought I would check it out. I'm glad I did! At the moment I own about 11 DVD's in total which is mainly made up of the older tapings although I do have a number of the more recent DVD's as well. My favourite wrestler in Shimmer is probably Mercedes Martinez although I like a wide number of others. I'm actually thinking of perhaps trying to see Shimmer live in the future (possibly the next set of tapings in March of next year). I've never been to the USA before though so the idea is a bit daunting. In the last few days I uploaded a couple of Shimmer DVD reviews (volumes 37 and 39) to my youtube channel if anyone is interested. I'll try and include the links below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXEFltrngG0www.youtube.com/watch?v=K35C7_iYBFA

Hello everyone!
I thought I posted here already, but it's look like I haven't.
My name is Timmy. Or Tim. And I've been known by many nicknames in my life, lol.
I'm 28 years old, and I discovered SHIMMER (retail) Vol. 1 last Sunday Night via Netflix.
I really feel as though SHIMMER was something I needed in this part of my life. Since last Sunday, I've watched merely 50 (give or take a few) clickwrestle matches - mostly all SHIMMER Women Athletes, but a handful of others.
I kick myself that I didn't get onto this product sooner. Hopefully it will be around for many, many years to come. I've begun compiling a DVD collection - and of course, it devastates me that chances are I will not have a complete one. But, heck, what can you do? It's even a little funnier that I became a fan a week after the out-of-stock sale on the two volumes I would most like (Vol11/12) ended. Ha!
I began watching wrestling in 87 with my Dad. Nikolai Volkoff has always been one of my favorites. I became a huge WWE mark as a child. I was like the kid who loves wrestling in middle school and high school. I began watching ECW in 96 and grew a large collection of ECW tapes. I also collected FMW tapes and I remember one IWA tape I had that featured Rey Misterio vs. American Kickboxer - and I thought that was just marvelous, lol. I began attending ECW's Massachusetts events live, and one of the kids I was friends with at the time actually got punched in the face by Tazz at one of the events (note: this kid spat in Tazz's face, so duh.) In 2001 I graduated high school and moved to college in Vermont. I didn't really like the Invasion angle, I wasn't invested in independent wrestling after what happened to ECW, and for about 4 years or so I merely followed the results while spending most of college traveling around the country following musicians and trying new drugs, etc. (Long story, ha.)
Anyway, I bought a WrestleMania when it was Cena/Triple H, being the Boston boy at heart that I am, and decided to become a wrestling fan again. Bought a few DVDs, nicey nice.
I think I always stayed away from Ring Of Honor because of my deep hatred for pederasts, which is a bit unfair. The Rob XXX thing really made me angry and disgusted, though. I got around to watching a few Bryan Danielson matches on youtube and the product really wasn't enough for me to be comfortable offering my passionate support. It was missing something, and it's hard to put into words what that something is, but after being an ECW fan in the 90s, I think it was pretty hard to get that excited about a product that wasn't ECW in 95-96 because going to those shows live was such a cool experience. Sure, the wrestling in Ring Of Honor was good, but somehow in my mind I thought it was a little overrated. Plus that whole XXX Video thing kind of pissed me off.
ANYWAY, Relied mostly on WWE On Demand to fill my wrestling needs from there on out. Loved the house shows they would put on, the old WCW Pay Per Views from around the NWA time, and I loved watching the old school MSG cards from when Bruno and Backlund were champions. I think one of the favorite things I saw featured was the Jack Brisco/Dory Funk, Jr. feud. Would love to have a full tape of one of their classics.
Eventually the WWE On Demand programming seemed to repeat itself. And I moved to Portland, Maine where Time Warner doesn't offer it. Didn't want to bother with DISH so just said **** it. Bought a Laptop that could connect to my tv wirelessly and for the first time began watching Misawa/Kobashi matches.
Wow.
Misawa/Kobashi just blew anything I had ever seen right out of the water. I did a lot of wrestling youtube playlists. Would just chill out in a mini theater of sorts, burn a few down if you will, and watch old AWA classics, Japan classics, etc. that I had never got around to.
I remember thinking about a week before I found SHIMMER, that I really wished there was more wrestling for me to see. I'm in between work at the moment, and it's a funny time in life. I was so lifted when I watched Vol.1 - OMG, I could almost not believe it. Everything about it I just loved.
I'm a little jealous of Dave Prazack, lol. I kind of want to be him. I remember being a young lad on Prodigy way back in the day and he would post there. Good stuff. I feel like SHIMMER is really getting me in touch with my true self again (if that doesn't sound too corny.) I've had many, many very, very wild days. I'm pretty darn glad to be alive, and to have found something like SHIMMER in this period of my life where I am trying to stay in touch with my true self rather than who I told myself I was or wanted to be in the later years of HS, college, and the aftermath. Sounds a little too deep, but I can't tell you how much SHIMMER brightens my life now. I still like an occasional good time, but I'm not so wild as I used to be, and marking out to SHIMMER is really helping me make that transition peacefully. I dunno, I look too deeply into stuff - just it really came into my life at the right moment.
Obviously, SHIMMER presents the best wrestling in the United States, period. Well, that's in my opinion. The booking is pretty fabulous. It's a bit of a throwback, not very raunchy, and yet it still leaves you with that "special ECW feeling." Nowadays it's providing opportunities for American fans to see sensations like Saraya Knight and Kana. Just ****ing amazing.
Cheerleader Melissa is like a mythical figure almost. The feud with MsChif is just so cool. Honestly I saw Cheerleader Melissa get in the ring, and I was like "Haha, a cheerleader." And then MsChif came out and I was like "Oh ****, she's gonna get all nasty on this cheerleader." And then I was like OMFGWTF and I learned that Melissa is the baddest bitch around. And I just thought that was great. I've watched some of her older matches on clickwrestle, the ChickFights, and some of the things that came before SHIMMER, and I just think what she's done for wrestling is a very unique and extremely strong accomplishment and she is truly one of the all time greats on any measuring stick.
I'm really sad about Daizee Haize not being available for the next set of tapings which I look forward to very much. I've heard speculation about why that is and who really knows. I think Haize is the only person capable of carrying a broadway with any number of these girls. Like a true 60 minute, exciting, draw with spots/impeccable psychology. If she ever wanted to. I gotta say I watched that Mercedes Martinez/Lexxus thing, and I didn't really feel it, at all. I'm glad Mercedes is a heel now because I would have had difficulty accepting the character after that if she wasn't getting all bad ass on people now. I think she's a great talent, and I've liked all the other matches I've seen her in (at least 6 or 7,) but I thought that match stunk! I saw her name and the time and I just expected too much probably.
I've started to notice most of my favorite matches involve Daizee Haize. And the promo she did on youtube with that god awful Elliot Harris, ROTFLMAO.
Hey DP, if you want the girls interviewed, I can do a better job than Elliot Harris. Who the hell is he anyway?! LOL. Well just kidding, kinda, not being overcritical! But really!!!!
My favorites of the current roster are Nakagawa, The NINJAs - but I'll boo them in person because they deserve the heat, Cheerleader Melissa, and Saraya Knight. Hopefully they bring Knight back without her daughter she's a real legend and be a real treat for me to see live. I haven't seen anything of Kana's yet! (And I also got a real respect for Allison Danger, honorable mention. Athene's cool, too.)
DP, if you're eyes are on this, I know she's probably expensive, but give Saraya another set of tapings, at least, please! Seeing a legend like her live must be amazing.
I'm currently building my collection to include every DVD available. Then I'm going to use the clickwrestle shows to watch them all consecutively prior to the tapings. I'm very excited to attend in person!
I'd really like to make some friends who like SHIMMER. I'm honestly just a sometimes laid back, sometimes hyper, pretty good natured guy, with too long of a history of partying hard. I'm transitioning into the next phase of life, and marking out to SHIMMER is really helping me with that. It would be very cool to be able to enjoy the weekend with a few new chill/funny folks and just enjoy some of the best wrestling on this planet, if not the best, and share in some laughter as well. (I bring the laughs!) Private message me if you'll be there. The after party sounds like a really cool thing, just to be able to thank these amazing performers and rub shoulders with them in person will be uplifting and fun in and of itself!! And I can't think of a better reason to have a few drinks.
I don't know about you guys, but for this guy, the dream booking has already begun! LOL.
P.S.
I'm scared of Sara Del Ray.
Also, I think it would be cool if anyone wants to start a friendly pool before the show. Who's going to be in the opener? Who's going to be in the match before last? Questions like that. Whoever has the most points wins! You guys ever do that?

Hi everyone,
My name is Franck, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Montreal. I started watching Shimmer few months ago when I first discovered volume 36 which was my first Shimmer show ever saw.
I heard about that promotion while searching on the net for some good women wrestling, and discovered soon enough that this company was the best in terms of Women pro Wrestling.

Hi my name is Rick and I am from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I own an all Canadian women's professional wrestling website called North Starz (http://www.northstarz.ca) and I am a big advocate for equity in sports. Especially in gender biased sports like wrestling. I am going to a Shimmer taping this March for sure. Thank you for having me here.
