Wow this forum is civilized I get flamed for having my own tastes and opinions. I'm not sitting here shoving my mother****ing thoughts and ****ing opinions down your throat but because I have them everyone is trying to ****ing tear me apart. What the **** is up with that ****ing ****? May I be the first person to welcome Gordon Ramsay to the SHIMMER Forum.

What about Lorelei? Wins and losses matter! ...unless Clause 32(a) By-law 13-11, aka "the Lacey Exception," is invoked. Somehow you CAN go 2-8 and still get title shots, not to mention keep your roster spot...

To momentarily play Devil's Advocate, civility towards those with vastly differing opinions from the general consensu does seem to be the exception and not the rule. But then again, that could be said for just about any message board on the interweb.
But, I mean come on... conceivably we're all friends here. Is it really so hard to respectfully agree to disagree?

I'm sure the things I am about to say will get lots of people calling me a troll and such, but I don't really care. I've been a board member for a long time, just have never posted before. I was at the show on Sunday and I have to say I was very disappointed in a great deal of it.
From the poor fitting ring gear to half the roster having bra straps showing with the tags sticking out I was left wondering if I was watching a yard sale wrestling event. It made me wonder what happened to the professionalism I've become accustomed to at Shimmer shows.
The officiating seemed really off this time too. The over abundance of telling some tag teams "only one in the ring at a time" when other teams weren't told at all. Among other things already mentioned in this thread.
There were booking decisions that truly boggled my mind. The main one being putting brand new unestablished tag team belts on the generic blondes. Don't get me wrong. This isn't a case of wanting to see the same teams win over and over. It's a matter of there were 6 teams in that gauntlet match and the worst of them won the titles. Nothing they did impressed me at all. In fact, the urge to just walk out of the show was very strong. I don't think in any way shape or form giving them the titles elevates them. I think it makes it harder to look at the new titles as having any value at all.
The match between the generic blondes and the Canadian Ninjas I think makes my point for me. Could the crowd have been any less interested? Nobody cared one bit about the generic blondes. And blonde whose head is too big for her body couldn't even get a chant for blonde whose name nobody can remember started. Sure there was applause at the end of the match...for the BELL! I truly cannot wrap my head around the logic of putting new belts on an unestablished substandard team. I couldn't care less about these belts now if I tried.
Not to be totally negative in my first board post, the match between LuFisto and Wesna was truly awesome. Easily the best match of the day. I loved every minute of it.
MsChif and Daizee was a great match. I just wish MsChif was feeling better so her screams could have gotten the crowd into it more. Get better soon!
The finale with Sara and Serena was awesome as well. Great work on both their parts.
I was very impressed with the Pink Ladies and hope they will be back.
I'll go back into lurking mode now...

I'm sure the things I am about to say will get lots of people calling me a troll and such, but I don't really care. The first sign of a true troll. Who is nobody? You think you speak for the entire fanbase, who have no problems remembering their names? This is why you don't book a wrestling promotion. For the match to make your point for you, what you say actually has to be true. The Ninjas obviously had their fans there, so the reaction was a bit mixed, but considering the place erupted when they won the titles and they still got great reactions in the second half, I have to wonder if you actually watched the same show as anyone else, or if you're so shortsighted that you think that because five people in your general vicinity may not have cared that nobody else did. It's a common mistake among fans who come to shows thinking of themselves as the center of the universe. You'll be missed. Until you "don't care" so much you come back with some lame rebuttal about how you can have your own opinion and I should just keep quiet and let you make a douchebag out of yourself or something.

is that the best you can do? was that supposed to hurt me or something?
I AM entitled to my own opinion. I traveled for hours to get there and stood in line and paid my money to see the show. And it's kind of sad that I couldn't come home and tell my friends that they missed total awesomeness and it was even better than the last show like I did all the other times.

Thanks for your opinion. Unlike nykk, I genuinely appreciate it. You're entitled to have your own opinion. The thought police are getting out of hand on this board. Have a different opinion you get slapped down. I don't understand why your view point was savagely attacked like you were dissing all of shimmer, when that clearly is not the case. I do understand your point about generic blondes being the tag champs. One might say that the reason they have the belts is because they're not over and the reason they're not over is because they're the generic WWE (in looks) type. I mean, I think another poster touched on that before. It's cause and effect but their generic WWE friendly look will get people interested in checking out shimmer; sad but true. Having said that, I think people are WAY too hard on both of them, especially Ashley. And then insulting her because of her size- it doubles the ignorance; not talking about you personally just the people who've called them names and the dumb reasons given for not liking them. I think reverse discrimnination is a let down. I have faith in Lane and Neveah to be the Jumping Bomb Angel style babyfaces. The titles will build credibility over time; it can't happen in just one reign or even when they are first introduced. The dynamic heel ratio will do the establishing through grit babyfaces. I see nothing "troll" about your post. I'm interested in where nykk came to that conclusion; perhaps it's because he disagrees (and if you disagree with him, you must not be a real shimmer fan). It is true, you don't have to be civil to the minority opinion on the interwebs. PS: some people's ring gear is a little annoying to me. I really can't stand unnecessary labels and bra straps showing, either lol. I don't get it but my style is different.

I have a question for those who disagree with Ashley Lane and Nevaeh winning the tag team titles. Which of these other teams would be a better, more logical choice to put the titles on, given the fact that the plan is to have the titles be active on Ring of Honor shows during the SHIMMER off season?
Pink Ladies, who live in Australia.
Canadian Ninjas, from Vancouver and Ottawa.
Rain and Jetta, one of whom has to be flown in from England.
The Experience, imagine how they'd be received in ROH.
Suicide Blondes, two Canadians.

What does that red part mean? LOL. That's part of what people are on about. How Shimmer (and to a certain extent, ROH) is supposed to be the ant-venom to WWE yet the most WWE friendly women have the tag titles; and it's hilarious.

Have a different opinion you get slapped down. I don't understand why your view point was savagely attacked like you were dissing all of shimmer, when that clearly is not the case. Anyone's free to "slap back" by defending their opinion, but most would rather whine about people not accepting it. I have no problems accepting that others have a different viewpoint; most of the time if I disagree with something I won't even say anything. But someone who makes a first post with a tone like that is asking for it, so they can play the victim when someone points out how full of crap they are. I hope you don't think this. You come across to me as one of the more intelligent members of the board. They clearly ARE over, and have been since their very first night as a team. Watch the pops they get on the DVDs and listen to the crowd when the tag title match comes out. And remember that the board is only an isolated portion of the fanbase and the two do not necessarily share the same views. Can't really argue with that. Have I ever said you're not a real SHIMMER fan if you disagree with me? I said the other day that I was ashamed to be associated with "so-called fans," referring to the fact that they were showing zero support of the promotion by forming baseless opinions based on results and matchups they didn't like, when they had no idea if it was even good or not, not having, you know, seen it yet. I will give you this caveat: liviya actually did see the show, so she actually does have an opinion that's worth something, even if I personally thought her criticisms were garbage. Bra-straps? Seriously? I must not have noticed, being too busy watching the wrestling. Perhaps bile is spewed doubly from me in retaliation where my friends are concerned, because I do get a bit protective. And she did like some of the things I liked. To me, those two shows were everything that was right and fun about wrestling. So sorry if my being a hard-ass offends you, but also know that both sides of the fence get it. I've had my own criticisms of the product in the past, and in fact criticized one match so harshly once that I got certain powers-that-be mad at me. So I should probably stop now, since they probably don't want me running people down, and everyone knows where I stand on these matters.

Does anyone really think that The Experience would sell a single DVD by appearing in ROH? The fact that the Blondes could maybe sell 1 Shimmer DVD tio the ROH fans makes it worth putting the straps on them.

So I should probably stop now, since they probably don't want me running people down, and everyone knows where I stand on these matters. About the bra strap thing: not to be sexist. but yes a little- I get off on it- some chicks notice those kinds of things because I have and ALWAYS have; when I was younger I would spend an hour infront of the mirror trying to fix it so they wouldn't show and I cringe everytime I see them showing on another woman. I just haven't said anything about the perplexities of certain wrestlers' ring gear. To me, it really seems as if you (and myself included) are really being hard on people who don't see things the way we do, especially about the blondes. I wouldn't call someone else's opinion "garbage" though because she paid money to see the show and obviously has done so before. I think your response was to try and slap her back down into her place, even going so far as to call her a troll just because her opinion is something you don't agree with. No actual trolling, just disagreement.. .do you see what I'm getting at there? That kind of libel is why I decided to say something. In my opinion, both sides DO NOT get it, especially on a wrestling board. Majority rule's minority opinions are recieved very harshly. I remember when my fellow PMS cohort, biliken got flack for his favourites thread yet, some of the same people that were jumping on him are in this thread being jackasses about Ariel, Lane, Neveah and Lane winning. Someone even said Ariel wasn't good enough to win the 4 way; I was personally offended by that but I don't think their opinion was garbage. And I think the ill sentiment over ignorant statements made about Lane and Neveah and Ariel are causing people to make inflammed reponses to people who just don't agree with the Blondes winning the straps. I really do think that Neveah and Lane's generic, WWE friendly looks are a help in promoting shimmer abroad, I didn't say that to take away from their wrestling skill. I DON'T mean to say that looks are all they have but it certainly is a boost. They're over with the crowd but it's a different kind of "over". If I remember correctly, at least on my copy, people were booing Ashley during her second shimmer match against Alexa Thatcher. I also find the way fans who have the luxury of attending shows talk down to fans who don't a little bit annoying (not in this situation but others). As if it makes the choosen ones better fans. Some of us can't come, no matter what we do. Some of us are trapped in a hellhole with no means of escape for ANYTHING and can't make it to Berwyn. Would love to, but can't.

Okay, maybe troll is a little harsh since she had some supportive things to say as well. I said that because if you have to preface your own opinion with "people are going to call me a troll" then that's exactly what you're doing, or you wouldn't have to say that. Now if she proves me wrong and sticks around and participates rather than spew hatred and then go back into the shadows, then so be it. That's fair enough.
Lord knows I've been disagreed with before, but putting out blatantly false information like how NOBODY cared about Ashley and Nevaeh is something else entirely. I guess I must have imagined all the popping for their double teams, or the big Ashley chant when she was in trouble, or the jubilation when they won the titles. Or the support that has been shown for them before, not just among the general fanbase but here on the boards. Or how she disdainfully referred to them as the blonde whose head is too big for her body and the other blonde whose name she couldn't remember? You're damn right I'm going to come down hard on that. I would expect the same if I were to say something similar. Fortunately, I have more respect for the women athletes of SHIMMER than that.
It reminds me of a line from Scrubs, and yes, everything in life can be referred to something from that show for guidance:
Laverne: Are you aware that you are in everybody's way?
JD: In EVERYBODY'S way, Laverne? Or in YOUR way? Think about it.
You'll have to help me out with this one. What "other situations" are you referring to where people who were at a show talked down to someone who couldn't go?
