re: Camera Guys
Just deal with it, okay? Without them, there are no DVDs, and, without DVDs, there are no live shows for us to attend or matches to enjoy. I've seriously considered choking people who rudely shout "MOVE!" at the cameramen during the tapings. They're just doing their jobs in the manner that they, as professionals (or semi-professionals, whatever they are) see fit. It's a job that is necessary to the existence of the company. Either get over it or stay at home and just watch the show on tape.
(I don't mean to direct all of that venom at billy12, by the way. I've just gotten fed up with general comments about the cameramen, both here and at the tapings.)

But i can see what their beef is......4/26 taping for 3 or 4 matches my side had 4 cameras on it. 3 still cams and 1 video

I admit i didn't pay much attention to the camera people at Shimmer (granted, I was on the hard cam side). But at the AAW show's we usually have 2 handheld people. 1 is a young lady who NEVER gets in the way. She's rather tiny and always crouching down so she obstructs no one but every now and then is a guy who does it who just stands all the time no matter where he's at.

If I wasn't so paranoid about being shut out of a front row ticket, I'd wait to get them until it's the final dozen remaining so I could be on the same side as the hard camera.

Over half the tickets available for 7/5 have already been sold. If you don't have tickets yet and plan on attending, be advised that this taping will likely sell out well in advance, as was the case last time.

And, it's worth noting, on the other side of the ring? One solitary camera guy. I'd almost suspect he had cooties or something, the way everyone else was avoiding him. Now, Ryan, you're right. Without the handheld camera guys, we wouldn't have the DVDs. They have a job to do, and we should be grateful for it. And the still photogs also provide a valuable service. (I'm also very appreciative of the one photog--Buddy, I suspect--who started to move into the shot I was going to take from my seat, saw that I was about to snap a picture, and held off to let me do so.) BUT... when you get a front row ticket (and when you pay as much as the prices are getting to be), it is NOT unreasonable to expect not to have lengthy stretches where you can't see a damn thing that's happening, because there are FOUR camera people (between still and video) blocking your view of the action. And, as I've said before, I've DONE ringside photography. It is possible to do that job, and do it well, in a manner that is not as obtrusive as can sometimes be the case--especially at the last couple of Berwyn tapings.

We have never had 4 photographers/cameramen on one side of the ring at the same time. That's really stretching the truth, everybody.
For most tapings we only have 2 DVD cameramen on the floor filming, and typically 2 photographers (Wally and Buddy). That's it. For 4/26, we also had George Tahinos in to shoot for Pro Wrestling Illustrated and Super Luchas. Sorry, but I'm not going to tell PWI they can't send their photographer to our shows. Without Wally out there, we wouldn't have 2,000+ ringside photos to post after each taping, which also wind up being used for other promotional materials and our DVD artwork. Some shows it's just Wally out there. Some shows just Wally and Buddy.
The two DVD cameramen are always on opposite sides of the ring from one another. Buddy is almost always on the side facing the hard cam, which means he's automatically not on the same side as either of the DVD cameramen.
We've turned down several additional photographers in the past who have requested ringside access so that it does not become too crowded. 2-3 still photographers and 2 cameramen for the DVD is the maximum.

I really wish I didn't have to work so I could give Shimmer some more money and buy a ticket. Just waiting for the tickets to the following show to go on sale, which is hard after having gone to a show.

4 front row tickets left. Two of them are together. The other two are single seats. Act fast if you want 'em! E-mail dave_prazak@yahoo.com if you're interested.
