[quote author=rik board=shimmer thread=2241 post=31438 time=1215384322 What really really pisses me off is these AREN'T "lokel yokel's" as someone put it. Yes, there were about 10 or so AAW fans that came out but we're all Shimmer fans as well. These dweebs actually TRAVELLED here for the explicit purpose to razz Danger, Del Rey and a few others all freaking night. It's called a "life" people. You should look into it. [/quote]
So...when you see them at the next local show..maybe ask them to kindly keep that type of thing away from Shimmer. Hopefully they will see that slurring the babys at a show built on the RoH legacy of respect and athleticism is not appropriate. I don't know what kind of crowd your local promotion plays to so I can't judge it.

Man, sounds like some people need a real life ass kicking What really really pisses me off is these AREN'T "lokel yokel's" as someone put it. Are we talking about the 4 drunks that were sitting in front of the Bar ? Those were the guys who yelled out that the Haze was knocked up. Those 4 threw stuff at people, insulted wrestlers, & tried to pick fights with just about anyone nearby. We were sitting 3 seats to the right of them. Thankfully they left after the 1st taping.

Most will probably hate these opinions as I've been quite critical without actually seeing the show, but as far as cards go, this does look pretty weak with only 1 main event worthy match on the card. The rest just don't look that interesting or special at all. I thought losing Lexie, Malia, Amber and Cindy would mean we would be less a few boring matches like all their matches have been for me, but this card looks even worse. i think missing Wesna, Daizee, Lacey and Stock has really spread the roster out quite thin too. Good Lord. And I thought I was critical. As a fan who not only saw the show but had a front-row seat in front of the ring, I can tell you neither card was weak at all. Everyone else on the roster stepped up to compensate for the absences, and as a result it really felt like a complete show. Even with Daizee Haze (my favorite SHIMMER wrestler) unable to compete, both volumes were solid, and I'm very excited about where the company is headed right now. What really really pisses me off is these AREN'T "lokel yokel's" as someone put it. Yes, there were about 10 or so AAW fans that came out but we're all Shimmer fans as well. Yeah, I heard those idiots too! They couldn't ruin this great experience for me--although it wasn't from lack of trying. Hopefully Dave does us all a favor and edits out at least some of the stuff they were yelling at the wrestlers in Vol 19. I thought most of it was completely out of line.

It's just too bad 10 shows or 5 tapings encompasses over a year and a half time. A lot of momentum can be killed in that much time. Nikki Roxx CLEARLY wasn't as over as she used to be mainly, I think, to it being a somewhat new group of Shimmer fans in attendance. The ones who started the "Nikki" "Roxx" "Other guy" "Sucks" chants don't go to Shimmer anymore so her return kinda lost something I think. Ah, I understand. Well consider yourselves missed. Maybe if you and some friends had got tickets, the boneheads yelling all that disrespectful crap all night long wouldn't have been able to but I digress... The problem is the taping date. Myself and others are part of that group that couldn't attend due to it being over the 4th of July weekeend.

THEY were not. They were from out of state and came in for the Shimmer show (presumably to harass Danger & Del Rey.)

They were from out of state and came in for the Shimmer show (presumably to harass Danger & Del Rey.) ....These guys drove/flew all the way to pay to get into the show, shout some mean things at Girls...then skip out at intermission before the Roster could come out at the break and..."discuss it with them" ....they paid gas prices, entry fee to yell mean things at Girls, then run away. It boggles the mind, that not one but 4 guys could have so much spare time and money..and so few brains as to how to use it so retardedly.

You know the old internet messageboard line about not feeding trolls?
It works that way in real life too. If fans and wrestlers didn't react to guys like that, they'd slowly yet surely fade away.

And you know what, honestly, if I had a harder shell or whatever I wouldn't even let this bother me as much as it does. I know these ladies are professionals and used to this kind of crap and, hell, maybe Del Rey & Danger got together in the back and laughed at it all but for some reason deep down I just feel really really bad for those two because like it's been stated before, this went beyond "heel heat" or razzing the babyface. This was flat out harassment for lack of a better word and I want to make this sort of a public apology to Danger & Del Rey from me as well. Obviously I had no part in this but I want to say "I'm sorry" for not telling the jerks to shut the hell up. Please don't think all of us in that section are/were assholes because we're not. These people weren't "our" people. THey were out of staters with no life and no brains.

Let's not overstate it. They are female indy wrestlers. I'm sure they've heard worse in other places. Sure it sucks that they had to hear it at all and especially at SHIMMER which generally has such respectful fans, but I'm sure they aren't devastated or anything and realize that when you have $1 drafts something like this is bound to eventually happen.

Ah yes, the clowns who were playing the "name that wrestler or finisher in ABC order" before the show and even continued during it. That's one of those games reserved for long car rides and generally for 15 year olds. I think they were somewhat harmless. Even though we were in the row behind them, we still moved after the intermission just to not have to listen to the lameness any further.

No. Not in Shimmer. To be honest, I didn't realize it was as bad as it was at the time, I think because I had some very loud people surrounding me, but the more i think about it, the more it seems like both Sara and Allison were the two who seemed upset and/or pissed through the night. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, maybe Sara was just in character and Allison was fine, but that's the way it does seem in hindsight. And that's upsetting to me.
And maybe if you ignore them they go away, but what if they don't? Then they wind up taking over the show, don't they? Maybe acknowledging them is giving them too much power, but when you cross the line from "razzing" into this hurtful garbage, I don't know, yeah, we need to step up for the ladies. Because if it is affecting them as they do their jobs, we shouldn't allow that. They should be allowed to concentrate on doing their jobs - if there's something preventing them from doing that, we should take steps to rectify the situation if at all possible.

If you take an "us versus them" mentality and begin screaming back, it's got the potential to turn in to two groups of idiots yelling back and forth at one another instead of one group of idiots yelling at the wrestlers. That's more disrespectful and takes people out of the show far more than what's currently happening (which, frankly, I couldn't hear 90% of in my section).
