Larry Sweeney leads the dominant Sara del Rey into battle against the formidable MsChif! Del Rey has been virtually unstoppable as of late, but the level of her recent competition pales in comparison to the current Shimmer and NWA World Women’s Champion. Tired of the “Divas”? TNA and WWE may have their problems with their women's divisions, but at least they have more pros than cons compared with ROH in my opinion. The last match given a decent amount of time was the 4 way featuring Ashley was it not which was quite a few months ago. I hope this match is given some time, but even 8-10 minutes doesn't fully show off what these women are capable of, especially when facing each other for the SHIMMER Title. I do wonder with the new booker if the women's matches will become longer and more frequent. In SHIMMER country, aka Chicago. But from a storyline standpoint, where's Deeb's title shot? She beat Del Rey most recently, no? This is an odd statement. Has MsChif even had a match in ROH since Return Engagement? As far as SHIMMER matches are concerned, Sara didn't pick her opponents and was angry about being put up against wrestlers she called bottom of the barrel. I am interested in how the dynamic changes with Del Rey being full on clown punting-esque heel. I really hope the amount of time it took to get a rematch doesn't mean Del Rey will go over because .if Del Rey wins it will be a lot of fail. MSCHIF REMATCH - NOV. 22 - CHICAGO RIDGE, IL ------------------------------------------------------------------ It was announced in today's edition of the ROH Newswire at www.ROHwrestling.com that the rematch between SHIMMER Champion "Your Soul's Tormentor" MsChif and the woman she beat for the title, Sara Del Rey, has been signed for ROH's "Rising Above" event on Saturday, November 22nd at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL! MsChif won the SHIMMER Championship on April 26th, and has successfully defended the title in both SHIMMER and Full Impact Pro during the time since. Del Rey's ROH agent "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney negotiated on Sara's behalf to have her rematch for the belt take place in Ring of Honor, rather than SHIMMER, pointing out Del Rey's recent success in ROH competition. Sweeney pointed to the fact that Del Rey has defeated some recent opponents in ROH competition in less than a minute as an indication that the rematch taking place in ROH favors Del Rey. This will be MsChif's first defense of the SHIMMER Championship in ROH. She made an appearance at Vendetta II where she hit a double stomp on Austin Aries and then misted him, joining AOTF. She hasn't been featured nearly enough. I understand Prazak's past opinions on Sara's squash matches, but I hope this will be given some time. If it's a rushed four minute match where each woman just gets in her signature moves, I will be very disappointed. That's alright for Sara vs. Jen Blake, but not Sara vs. MsChif for the SHIMMER Championship.
