Best wishes to Serena from everyone at SHIMMER for a speedy recovery. It turns out she sustained a concussion and is not going to risk rushing back into the ring until the doctors suggest it is safe to do so. Contrary to what some have speculated, it was not the result of weapons used in the match with Portia Perez. It was a fluke injury in another match. She gave it her all during SHIMMER weekend, and we hope to see her 100% again ASAP!

I hope she is ok. Concussions are nothing to fool with.

Hope she gets well soon. I know the injury didn't happen in the Portia match, but Portia could always claim it. Bit like Orton claiming he tore Cena's pec when it was really Kennedy.

Get well soon Deeb & now some user on Diva Dirt is accusing Serena of lying just so she doesn't get upstaged by Melina at WSU. Oh lord, *sigh.

She's having an MRI on Friday, so she should know more after that. Best wishes to her.

According to an interview with Newsday, Serena was told by her doctor that she shouldn't wrestle ever again, which is really sad news. This should be something she should approach with caution, maybe keep testing it out to see if it's safe at any point. She certainly shouldn't be rushing back.

ringbellesonline.com/2011/11/17/serena-deeb-told-to-not-wrestle-again/Its interesting she mentions having a child. That's something women in wrestling always have to consider if they want to have a family at some point (if they're getting into wrestling young). Still, I hope she does what's best for her mind, body and spirit. She's an incredible woman and deserves the best life has to offer.

Call me wrong if need be i'd rather see her leave if it means her staying healthy since health issues would complicate any plans for kids that she is talking about.

I'll hold out hope that Serena will be in any ring, much less a Shimmer ring, again.

Would be terrible if she was forced to retire as she truly had become one of the very best all around. Best wishes to Serena

Serena the whole person is more important that Serena the wrestler. If she can't continue wrestling, she'll be awesome at something else.

Although nothing's official just yet, there were indications on various sites that Serena will be wrestling in early March in the Northeast. I'm hoping that either these reports were incorrect, or that she's actually well enough to compete without jeopardizing her longterm well being. I've only seen her wrestle three or four times and met her about that many times, but she's got so much talent in the ring, on promos -- and she seems like a great person too. So I hope she puts herself first regardless.

I didn't witness the injury, but felt sick when I heard about it. Call me wrong if need be i'd rather see her leave if it means her staying healthy since health issues would complicate any plans for kids that she is talking about. I'll second that opinion. I'm sure it's not easy to give up a job you love. It wouldn't be the same, but she could still be in wrestling... color commentator, referee, manager, etc. right? Prayers and best wishes in any case.
