I have the Turner Home Video betamax tape of Bash '87. Comes in one of those Disney-style hard vinyl cases. The illustrated cover art for it is awesome.

Awesome! GAB '87 was definitely great..loved that War Games. Always enjoy the late 80s/early 90s era of wrestling.

War Games was the greatest cage match ever conceived. Twas a shame how they ruined the concept with the last one that was done in '98 by having three teams and allowing pinfalls, to say nothing of the fact that the win could be scored before all participants were in. Thank goodness there were a lot of good War Games matches on video prior to that so that the legend of their greatness cannot ever be forgotten.

Is that Earl Hebner two or three pictures in? Also, how did US VHSes come packaged if not in 'clam shell' cases?

Is that Earl Hebner two or three pictures in? Also, how did US VHSes come packaged if not in 'clam shell' cases? Cardboard sleeves, like we would have had for recordable tapes.

Is that Earl Hebner two or three pictures in? Also, how did US VHSes come packaged if not in 'clam shell' cases? If they didn't come in clamshell cases, they were in cheap cardboard slipcovers to save space on video store shelves. It had to be a wrestling event or a "family" film to warrant the clamshell case after 1986, and even wrestling events went to the cardboard slipcovers by 1988, so only family films released by Disney and Warner Brothers Home video were using them until VHS went obsolete in 2006 with "A History of Violence" starring Viggo Mortensen being the last film to be released in that format.
